The school is a public full Continuum IB World School offering the Primary Years Programme (PYP) for grades K–5, the Middle Years Programme (MYP) for grades 6–10, and the Diploma Programme (DP) for grades 11–12. It operates across East Campus (K–4), Jenner Campus (5–8 and PreK), and West Campus (9–12). The IB programmes emphasize inquiry‑based learning, critical thinking, and multilingualism to develop global mindedness in students.
The Fine Arts program provides the school's broad Fine Arts offerings to all students from kindergarten through 12th grade, with arts programming designed to inspire creativity and help students develop new skills.
The East Campus offers Spanish for language acquisition; Jenner Campus offers Spanish; all West Campus students have the opportunity to learn two languages, Spanish and French, with options to take IB Spanish or IB French to advance language skills. Spanish Transitional Bilingual Education (TBE) is available at K–8, and Mandarin Chinese is offered at the PYP level, with English as the primary instructional language. The school also supports a LIFE overseas exchange program.
Jenner Campus Clubs & Activities include Comix Club, Dance and Movement Club, Tutoring, Algebra Test Prep, Game On! Club, Aprendiendo Espanol Club, Student Voice Committee, Chess Club, Gardening Club, and Yearbook Club. West Campus offers a wide range of clubs and activities such as Craft Club, Yearbook, Newspaper, Tutoring, Fitness Club, Drama Club, Robotics, Student Government, Chess Club, Debate Team, and numerous affinity and support clubs (e.g., National Honors Society, Gender and Sexuality Alliance, Freshmen Success Club, Talk with Your Hands/ASL, Owls Outdoors and S'mores Club). East Campus also lists after‑school programs and activities.
The Diploma Programme core includes Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) and an extended essay, highlighting a strong emphasis on community service as part of IB. The school engages families and communities through Local School Council, Parent Advisory Council, and the Bilingual Advisory Committee, among other organizations.
Student leadership opportunities include Student Government at the West Campus and related leadership avenues such as the Jenner Campus' Student Voice Committee and Yearbook Club, which provide student‑driven experiences. The Jenner Campus also offers opportunities like the Chess Club and Yearbook Club, while the West Campus features a Debate Team and other student‑led initiatives.
The athletics program spans fall, winter, and spring for middle and high school, with sports including soccer, cross country, volleyball, basketball, indoor track, and cheer. Additional wellness and activity options include Fitness Club, Owls Outdoors and S'mores Club, and Drama and Dance offerings as part of after‑school activities.
The Ogden International School of Chicago is a public IB World School within the Chicago Public Schools system. It offers a continuous IB program from the Primary Years Programme (K–5) on East Campus, the Middle Years Programme (6–10) at Jenner Campus, and the Diploma Programme (11–12) at West Campus, serving students from ages 3 to 18. English is the primary instructional language, with Spanish available at East and Jenner and both Spanish and French offered at West, alongside Mandarin at the PYP level. A Language Policy provides mother-tongue support and bidirectional language development, with eighth graders able to switch Language Acquisition between French and Spanish when advancing. Honors courses begin in 6th grade across core subjects. The school operates campuses with Ogden Gardens—edible gardens that donate produce to families and participate in CPS Eat What You Grow.
