Ogden International School provides a Counseling Department that offers a full range of services including academic, personal, social, and college planning. The department serves the East Campus, Jenner Campus, and West Campus with dedicated counselors. The Elementary School Counselor, Middle School Counselor, and High School Counselors support students across grades K-12. The counseling program is described as comprehensive, restorative, and student-centered. The counselors work to foster social and emotional development and well-being and to support academic growth.
Ogden East Campus writes and develops IEPs for diverse learners and pushes into classrooms to provide specialized instruction, accommodations, and modifications in the general education environment. The school is committed to inclusion and co-teaching to maximize learning opportunities for diverse learners. Resource classes in language arts or math are available in a separate setting for more individualized instruction. Lessons are differentiated and instruction is designed to meet students' needs in the least restrictive environment (LRE).
There is an English Language Learner Support specialist to address bilingual or English as Second Language concerns.
Ogden provides a counseling program that supports students' academic, personal, social, and college planning needs. The program focuses on social and emotional development and overall mental wellbeing. Counseling staff provide preventative and responsive services to support student wellbeing. Ogden has a formal protocol to report concerns and to address issues promptly. To report, go to the source and address the issue with the person closest to it; if unresolved, contact the classroom teacher first, then the designated campus staff such as deans, counselors, and the case manager. For bilingual or English as Second Language concerns, contact the English Language Learner Support specialist. If concerns remain unresolved, escalate to the Head of School and, if necessary, to the Chicago Public Schools Parent Support Center.
The Ogden International School of Chicago is a public IB World School within the Chicago Public Schools system. It offers a continuous IB program from the Primary Years Programme (K–5) on East Campus, the Middle Years Programme (6–10) at Jenner Campus, and the Diploma Programme (11–12) at West Campus, serving students from ages 3 to 18. English is the primary instructional language, with Spanish available at East and Jenner and both Spanish and French offered at West, alongside Mandarin at the PYP level. A Language Policy provides mother-tongue support and bidirectional language development, with eighth graders able to switch Language Acquisition between French and Spanish when advancing. Honors courses begin in 6th grade across core subjects. The school operates campuses with Ogden Gardens—edible gardens that donate produce to families and participate in CPS Eat What You Grow. Extracurriculars include arts, languages, service, and sports, with emphasis on inquiry and collaboration.
