English is the primary language of instruction. Spanish is offered as a foreign language across campuses, with basic Spanish taught at the East Campus (Pre-School–4) and at the West Campus (ages 3–5), and Spanish taught twice weekly on the East Campus. Mandarin is taught in the Upper School, with a Lower School after-school Mandarin class once a week. ESL support is available for international students, with placement tests for Spanish and Mandarin, and language resources are integrated in the library.
Language is taught through total immersion in Quarry Lane's classrooms. Spanish is introduced at the East Campus for Pre-School to 4th grade and at the West Campus for ages 3–5, with all students learning Spanish twice a week on the East Campus. The Upper School offers Mandarin as a dedicated language program, and Lower School students may access a Mandarin after-school enhancement class once a week in coordination with the Upper School program. Immersion begins in third through fifth grades and is reinforced by speech, lessons, visual aids, and writing activities.
The Quarry Lane School’s Dublin East campus serves students from second grade through twelfth grade, offering a college-preparatory track centered on the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme. As the only private school in the East Bay providing the IB Diploma, the campus features a specialized STEM Academy that integrates science and engineering throughout the curriculum. High school students can pursue either the IB Diploma or an Advanced Placement (AP) path, with dedicated tracks in engineering and biotechnology. The campus includes a science and engineering lab where students participate in research projects, leading many to earn grand awards at the Hitachi Science & Engineering Fair. Beyond the classroom, the school is known for its competitive robotics teams and a visual and performing arts program that includes a planned performing arts center. Students also participate in a student-led club system, with offerings ranging from DECA and Speech and Debate to a variety of cultural and service-oriented societies.
