The school is not-for-profit and serves the diplomatic community, the international business community, and local residents of Tashkent. It is housed in a recently remodeled 13-acre wooded campus located about 10 minutes from the city centre, with a fully enclosed campus and on-site security. The campus includes a three-story secondary building, a three-story elementary building, an art and design building, a separate preschool facility, two full-size gymnasiums, libraries, an auditorium, a theatre and science labs, with climate-controlled classrooms. The school offers the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme, Middle Years Programme, and Diploma Programme with English as the language of instruction. TIS is celebrating its 31st anniversary as a leading institution in the city's diplomatic, international business, and resident communities.
The school provides a broad community life with a wide range of co-curricular activities and athletics that complement academics. After-school activities run through three terms, and clubs are led by teachers, support staff, and outside providers. Elementary Student Leadership and Secondary Student Council provide leadership opportunities for students. The IB programmes—Primary Years Programme, Middle Years Programme, and Diploma Programme—structure learning across the different levels.
The PTO is a parent-driven organization that enjoys the school's full support. Its main objective is for parents to engage with the school community and organize fun extra-curricular activities and social events for the children. They are actively involved in fundraising for the TIS Scholarship Fund. PTO activities support student life and scholarship opportunities. The PTO works with the school to enhance the overall TIS community.
Tashkent International School is a not-for-profit International Baccalaureate World School serving the city's diplomatic, international business, and resident communities. It offers the full IB continuum—PYP (preschool–Grade 5), MYP (Grade 6–10), and DP (Grade 11–12)—with English as the language of instruction and all students learning an additional language.
