Let the school know you're thinking of applying — they can share their prerequisites and help you through the process.
It's best to ask — circumstances can change at any time.
1. CIC has rolling admissions, which means students may apply and enroll at any point during the year, minimizing missed school when moving from a previous school. To begin enrollment, provide initial documents to start a student file and officially begin admissions. A set of documents is requested to give a clear picture of the student prior to joining CIC. 2. The required documents to begin the admissions process include: copy of the student's passport and birth certificate; copies of the parents' passports and IDs; school records (report cards/transcripts) for the past three years; psycho-educational evaluation or report if available; a recommendation form filled by the previous school and returned directly to Admissions via the email of Ms. Celeste Manganelli; vaccination records and memo from medical service; a recent photo; placement test; and a personal interview with CIC's Superintendent. Once these documents are received by the school, the CIC Admissions Team will contact parents by email or phone to discuss the interests of the family and provide an invitation to visit the CIC Campus. After the visit, families will take the final steps toward a potential offer of enrollment for the Colegio Internacional de Caracas. 3. Who can attend CIC? CIC is an international school with enrollment open to international passport holders. Enrollment is not offered until all documentation is received, and admission is decided by a committee of approximately ten teachers, administrators, and board members. CIC reserves the right to decline enrollment based on academic ability, English language proficiency, advisement from local embassies, or other criteria. CIC is an IB World School offering the Middle Years Programme and Diploma Programme, and the CIC diploma is a United States-accepted document. CIC offers English immersion with ESOL support for younger students; teachers speak English as the primary instructional language, and licensed teachers are hired from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Venezuela and elsewhere.
Colegio Internacional de Caracas is a private, non-profit, co-educational day school in the Los Samanes hills of Caracas serving ages 2 to 18. It offers an American-style curriculum from Pre-Nursery to Grade 5, followed by the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (Grades 6–10) and the IB Diploma Programme (Grades 11–12). The school also awards a United States–certified graduating diploma. CIC is an IB World School and an early adopter of DP and MYP, with Cognia accreditation. Instruction is in English, with ESOL support for non-native speakers and multiple language options in the secondary grades. The campus features a turf football field, an outdoor dual-court area for basketball and volleyball, laboratories, a Library and Learning Center, a Maker Space, robotics and circuitry facilities, and a farm space. A robust college-preparatory program includes university counseling and online coursework, reinforced by project-based learning and activities such as SAMUN.
