The British International School Hanoi was established in August 2012 as part of the BIS group of schools in Vietnam. It was founded to extend the success of the original British International School campuses in Ho Chi Minh City. In 2013, the Hanoi campus transitioned fully to the international curriculum and became known as BIS Hanoi. In 2015, the school joined Nord Anglia Education, a global family of international schools, gaining access to partnerships with The Juilliard School, MIT, and UNICEF.
BIS Hanoi has a diverse international community with families representing more than 30 nationalities. The school regularly hosts cultural celebrations such as International Week, Tet (Vietnamese Lunar New Year) events, and charity fundraisers. Students also participate in community service initiatives that promote social responsibility and cross-cultural understanding among all age groups.
The school’s Parent Teacher Association provides opportunities for parents to engage in community life and support school events. The PTA helps organise seasonal fairs, cultural celebrations, and charity activities that bring together families and staff. Events such as the International Day and school fairs encourage cultural exchange and collaboration across the school community. The PTA also assists with volunteer coordination and fundraising efforts for local causes. Through these activities, the association strengthens communication between home and school and contributes to a welcoming environment for new families.
