Enrolment deposits and refundable/non-refundable treatment

Refunds and withdrawal policy

- Withdrawal by family during the school year: 50% of the remainder of the academic year's tuition will be refunded; the refund calculation date is the date the School receives official written notice of withdrawal. The School may consider additional refunds if accompanied by a physician's note.
- Dismissal by the School: the School may, at its discretion, refund 50% of the remainder of the academic year's tuition.
- Withdrawal due to travel restriction or study permit refusal for non-Canadian students: if the family notifies the School prior to August 1 of that academic year, the full tuition and registration fee for that year will be refunded in full.

Fee payment options and international payment methods

- Cheque or bank draft payable in Canadian funds to ‘Brentwood College School'. Payments received in U.S. funds are converted at the bank's deposit date exchange rate.
- Credit card payments: accepted via Plastiq or by submitting a Credit Card Authorization Form to accounts@brentwood.ca; the application fee can be paid directly through the application portal.

Boarding Arrangements

Brentwood has eight on-campus boarding houses: Hope, Allard, Mackenzie, Alexandra, Privett, Rogers, Ellis, and Whittall. Each student is assigned a roommate in a dorm, and houseparents with their families live in adjoining suites to support the house community. The houses include shared kitchens and common areas, and staff live in as part of the house community; meals and study hours are integrated into daily life. Brentwood is a large co-ed boarding community with about 550 students, over 80% boarding full-time, and a diverse international mix; Grade 12 Prefects mentor younger students and inter-house activities take place.

Uniform Requirement

Uniforms are worn for approximately 180 days per year and are a hallmark of Brentwood College School. The School Store is the primary source of uniform items and Brentwood-branded sportswear, and uniforms can be donated for reuse; Orientation Week staff assist new students with uniform selection and fitting.

Food Options

Nutritious meals are prepared four times daily in the Crooks Dining Hall, with accommodations for various dietary needs. The Food Services Team offers ethnic dishes for international dinners and McNeill's Cafe provides snacks and beverages. Crooks Dining Hall houses the dining hall and other student services.

House System

Eight boarding houses organize Brentwood's house system—Hope, Allard, Mackenzie, Alexandra, Privett, Rogers, Ellis, and Whittall. Curriculum

Brentwood College School provides a university preparatory curriculum built around authentic learning opportunities. The academic schedule is flexible, enabling students to take courses that fit their learning needs and provide strong academic support. Brentwood operates a Tripartite Program with mornings devoted to academics, afternoons to arts or athletics, and evenings to Prep for study, and the six-day weekly schedule supports balance. The curriculum emphasizes experiential learning and learning outside the classroom, including marine biology and oceanography contexts and cultural trips, with a focus on global mindedness. AP courses are offered; these College Board-designed courses can translate into university credits, with exams in May and biology/chemistry often beginning in Grade 11.

Graduates attend 57 universities across five Canadian provinces, seven US states, and 11 countries. About 70% of graduates pursue post-secondary study in Canada, roughly 10% in the United States, and just over 20% in other countries. Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

The school has a Wellness Framework grounded in the core values of Grit and Joy. The school supports the positive mental health of all students, empowering them to take ownership over their wellness and develop a stronger sense of well-being in all dimensions of life. Building Awareness & Resilience ensures students can navigate life's stressors and wellness promotion is embedded in all aspects of the program. Adult/Professional Support provides targeted skills and strategies for students facing sustained challenges, with temporary needs-based flexibility in academics, arts and/or athletics to help return to full capacity. Off-Campus Care outlines crisis response, with students receiving appropriate care from parents/guardians when off-campus support is needed.

Special Educational Needs (SEN)

The school provides structured support for students with identified learning exceptionalities. The Learning Centre is offered as a class in the academic morning to ensure access to academic support. The program helps students develop learning strategies and may include assistive technology support and executive functioning skills development. It also supports IEP goal creation and self-advocacy skills. A peer tutoring program complements teacher-supported instruction to broaden options for learners.

Mental Wellbeing

The school provides on-site Maeda Health Centre to support mind and body with a nursing team and medical staff available to support students. The Health Centre is a safe place to talk with empathetic, experienced health professionals, and staff coordinate appointments for physical and mental wellness and immunizations. They arrange referrals to external specialists, including counsellors, when needed. B-Well is a Grade 11–12 peer-support program that develops wellness literacy and helps students notice shifts in peers' wellbeing.
