Students select their subjects at the start of Grade 9 and study at Core or Extended levels. The curriculum includes English Language & Literature, English Language, Hindi, French, Spanish, Mandarin, and ESL, plus subjects across Groups 3–8 such as Coordinated Sciences, International Maths and Additional Maths, Business Studies, Economics, Global Perspectives, Environmental Management, ICT/Computer Science, Design Technology, Art Foundation, and Physical Education. The IGCSE is described as rigorous and globally recognized, with a range of assessment methods and real-world applications. The programme provides a clear progression pathway to the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP).
CIS provides University & Career Guidance with a Four-Year University & Career Pathway that starts before Grade 9. Counselors support Grade 9–12 students with university applications to top global universities across North America, the UK & Europe, Asia, and Australia and beyond. The program includes profile building, internships, portfolio development, mock interviews and destination-specific scholarship guidance. CIS is an official SAT testing center (Center Code: 63377) with on-campus SAT testing and PSAT for Grade 11.
CIS counsellors understand children's developmental, social, and emotional needs to support students' well-being. They are culturally sensitive and operate as a partnership among students, the counsellor, teachers, and parents. Counseling helps build trust, explore emotions and behaviors, and set personal or behavioral goals. They share strategies to reduce stress and help students identify personal interests to support well-being. Counseling is delivered through individualized sessions, group counselling, and whole-class or grade-level sessions, with support for families in transition and CIS Child Protection advocacy services; interactions are confidential except when safety is at risk.
Learning Support ensures all students can succeed. The LS team provides in-class support across the campus to challenge and support learners. Classrooms offer differentiated experiences from PreK to Grade 12 to address most learning differences within regular classroom learning. The LS team provides targeted support for students who need occasional help or greater oversight, based on ongoing assessment. They work with Individual Education Plans (IEPs) provided by clinical psychologists to address identified needs. Parents are partners, and regular family communication supports a child's development toward independent learning.
English is the language of teaching and learning at CIS. The EAL program combines in-class support with specialized English classes to assist English language learners. An EAL teacher supports each grade from 1–8, providing daily in-class support so ELLs learn alongside native English speakers. In World Language classes (French, Hindi, Mandarin, Spanish), EAL students attend small English-language classes to further support language development; Grade 9-10 EAL students participate in the IGCSE program to prepare for the IB program. EAL teachers collaborate with homeroom and subject teachers, and CIS uses the WIDA standards and the Can Do philosophy to guide language development.
CIS supports student mental wellbeing primarily through the school counselling program. Counselling offers strategies to reduce stress and supports emotional regulation, relationships, and personal growth. It includes individualized, group, and whole-class sessions, with involvement of families in transitions. Interactions are confidential, with safeguarding considerations if there is risk. The approach emphasizes building resilience and helping students identify personal interests to foster well-being.
CIS is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of its students on and off campus. The safeguarding policies reflect that commitment. All job applicants must undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the appropriate Criminal Records Bureau. CIS provides Child Protection advocacy services.
The CIS admissions process starts with an online enquiry to create an admissions account. After creating the account, you complete the admissions forms and upload documents to your student's dashboard. The Application Fee is $200 per child. CIS notifies applicants of admission status about two weeks after the Observation day or Entrance Test. If admitted, you receive an acceptance letter and the Finance Department invoices a registration fee of $2000 to hold the seat. Submit remaining documents and pay the first‑term tuition before school starts.

Safeguarding and child protection are central to TISB operations. Recruitment practices include safeguarding considerations, with a strong emphasis on child protection. Policies guide staff responsibilities in safeguarding, with confidential counselling records maintained in line with safeguarding and dataprotection policies. The Admissions process may require disclosures and supporting documentation, and the school may communicate with previous schools to verify past records when safeguarding needs are identified. If after admission a need arises that the school cannot cater for, this may be a basis for review of the placement.
