Daily life is staged by level: Early learning and Spillschoul start at 7:30–8:30 and finish at 12:30; primary classes begin at 7:45 with dismissal around 1:00 for 1st–2nd (and variations up to 3:00 for 4th–6th). Secondary starts at 8:00 and ends around 1:50–5:00 depending on timetable. After-school care runs until 5:30 PM.

The school is governed by Veräin fir Waldorfpädagogik Lëtzebuerg, a non‑profit association that runs the Fräi‑ëffentlech Waldorfschoul Lëtzebuerg, the Maison relais Waldorf, and a Waldorf kindergarten. The association is managed by the Gesamtleitungskonferenz (GLK), which includes a representative from each organ—Kindergarten, Primary, Middle, IB Conference, Daycare, and Parents Conference—and 2–4 members of the Expert Conference. An ideal class includes children with different gifts and abilities to reflect the social structure of society. The application form should be completed with a photo of the child. If a place is available, the class teacher will contact the family for an appointment with the child. For Kindergarten and Pre-School the educators decide after meeting with the parents and child, and send an official decision letter. For Primary and Secondary, after the in-person meeting, the child is invited to attend classes for one or two weeks; at the end of the trial period another conversation takes place to make the final decision. There is a waiting list for Primary and Secondary; however, applicants are invited to apply anyway. For the International Baccalaureate, the process is slightly different. Financial assistance from the CAS (Comité des Activités Sociales) supports families of pupils at the European School Luxembourg I. The CAS provides an annual budget to fund assistance for school trips and educational projects approved by the director, with the school acting as fiduciary and assistance being deducted from trip invoices. Eligibility includes household income below a defined threshold, proven financial difficulties, lack of other full coverage, and no outstanding debts to the school. The amount of aid depends on net disposable income and family size, ranging from a minimum of EUR 150 plus up to a share of trip costs (up to 50% for one child, up to 62.5% for two children, up to 83.5% for three or more children). Applications must be submitted between 15 January and 15 March for trips and travel projects; required documents include a signed application, household composition, the last three payslips for each parent, proof of child benefit, unemployment certificate if applicable, custody documentation, and any relevant educational documentation. Processing is conducted by the school's accounting department and final decisions are made by the Director; if the budget is exceeded grants are prorated and there is no administrative appeal.

Sophrologie sessions teach breathing, relaxation, and visualization techniques to reduce stress, improve concentration, and promote confidence in learning. The school also runs structured class-time activities that address self-esteem, safety, and coping strategies to foster a calm and supportive climate. These measures are integrated with mediation and citizenship initiatives to promote holistic wellbeing.

Safeguarding is embedded in Vauban's wellbeing framework. The cellule d'écoute serves as a formal channel to identify and address sensitive situations, with a two-adult protocol and confidential handling, involving families where appropriate. The on-site health professionals and school staff coordinate to protect pupil welfare and respond to concerns promptly. The program includes explicit topics such as harassment prevention and safe use of social networks during class-life activities, reinforcing a safe school environment. The EBEP framework and associated supports ensure appropriate accommodations and follow-up for students with special educational needs, safeguarding their rights and well-being within the learning community.

1. Pre-enrolment for the next school year: Applications must be submitted online only, from the opening date, via the Start my online application button at the bottom of the page. This applies to all new students, including siblings of children already enrolled at Vauban. Prepare your child's pre-enrolment by reviewing curriculum descriptions per level, language pathways, and the fees simulator, and write a short personal message explaining why you want to join Vauban. A separate online file must be created for each child. 2. Re-enrolment of a Vauban student for the next school year: Re-enrolments are carried out online via the Restricted area (or by clicking the Re-enrolment button at the bottom of the page). Families will receive an e-mail specifying the start date for the re-enrolments. Re-enrolments for siblings must be carried out separately. 3. Admissions during the year: If you are considering enrolling your child at Vauban during the school year, our academic secretaries are available to answer your questions and advise you on your enrolment options. Their contact details are at the bottom of the page. They can be reached to discuss current availability and required information. 4. Admissions procedure: Open to all nationalities; Admission is open to students from other education systems as well as those coming from AEFE, France's education system, provided they pass the entrance tests. Only online applications with a complete file will be considered. The child's legal domicile must be in Luxembourg at the start of the school year, though the school may consider other situations, subject to available places. Admission in Petite Section (age 3 by 1 September) is available. 5. Confirm your enrolment: An enrolment is considered final once the €600 deposit is paid by bank transfer within eight days and all necessary documents are submitted online according to the instructions above. AEFE scholarships are available for families with French nationals attending Vauban in Luxembourg and are awarded based on a social assessment of the family's resources and assets. General conditions include being French nationals, residing in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, and being registered in the Registry of French Nationals Abroad; children must be at least 3 years old by the rentrée. Since this year, scholarship applications can be submitted directly on the Scolaide portal; information and guidelines are also available from the Ambassade de France and AEFE. Vauban also administers a Solidarity Fund, which provides individualized financial aid; the Fund is managed by Vauban's Scholarship Commission, which meets twice per academic year, and requests are handled through the Accounting department.

Waiting list: If a place cannot be offered at a given admissions committee meeting, your application will be placed on the waiting list and carried forward for review at the next committee meeting. There is no order of priority on the waiting list. Late applications submitted after the deadlines may be reviewed before the start of the school year, subject to remaining availability.
