Per-term presentation (derivation)
- The school year is organised into three terms (Autumn, Winter, Summer). The per-term amount below is the annual tuition divided evenly by three to present a per-term figure (this is a straightforward division, not a separate published term charge): Autumn/Winter/Summer per-term = (annual tuition) ÷ 3. Example: Grade 1 annual CHF 27,860 → CHF 9,286.67 per term (rounded to two decimal places).
What tuition covers
- Tuition includes books, compulsory field trips, English as an Additional Language (EAL) support, counselling, enrichment activities and the shuttle bus service between St. Gallen and Buchs where provided. Optional items and variable costs (see "Other fees") are not included.
Other fees and optional services
- Pre-School Care (08:00–08:30, full year): CHF 1,030 per year.
- After-School Care (15:20–17:00, full year): CHF 3,100 per year.
- After-School Care (15:20–18:00, full year): CHF 5,150 per year.

- IB Diploma Programme additional costs: online IB course fees (approx.) CHF 1,400 per year for Pamoja courses; IB exam fees (Grade 12) approximately CHF 1,400 (IB-set and subject to annual change).
- Supplementary 1:1 support, repairs or replacement of lost/damaged textbooks or IT devices and optional trips/lunches are charged separately at effective cost or as quoted.
- Shuttle / School Bus Service (optional; invoiced with tuition and charged by zone, registration binding for full academic year): Zone 1 — CHF 300 (1–5 trips/week) or CHF 600 (6–10 trips/week); Zone 2 — CHF 540 / CHF 1,080; Zone 3 — CHF 735 / CHF 1,470; Zone 4 — CHF 990 / CHF 1,980. A sibling discount equivalent to the tuition sibling discount applies to bus fees for families with three or more children.
Discounts and sibling reductions
- For three or more children enrolled at the school, there is a 25% discount on the tuition fee for each child (the first and second child pay full tuition). The first child is defined as the oldest child attending ISR in the given year.
Billing schedule and payment terms
- Tuition and Capital Fund fees are due before the first day of classes in August. All other invoices are payable as stated on the invoice.
- Monthly instalment option: Tuition may be paid in up to nine monthly payments; the final instalment must be made in April and a surcharge of 3.5% of the tuition fee is charged for the instalment plan. A late-payment charge of 1% per month applies to overdue balances. Alternative payment arrangements require written approval from the school.
- Late enrolment billing: Students enrolling after the school year start are charged a pro rata percentage of the annual tuition depending on the enrolment date (100% before 15 Nov; 75% after 15 Nov; 65% after 1 Jan; 45% after 1 Mar; 25% between 1 May and year end in long-term commitments).
Refunds and withdrawal penalties
- Early withdrawal fees (partial-year charges) are applied by date of withdrawal: withdrawing between 1 April 2026 and before the first day of classes incurs 25% of the annual tuition; withdrawing before 15 Nov: 45%; before 1 Jan: 65%; before 1 Mar: 75%; after 1 Mar: 100% of the annual tuition. Notification of leaving is required by March 31 each school year for exemption from fees for the following school year. No refund of fees will be issued if the school is forced to close due to circumstances beyond its control. Bus fees and some other services may not be refunded for withdrawal during a semester; pro rata billing applies for mid-year enrolment.
Boarding
- Boarding is not provided; ISR is a day school only. There are no boarding fees. Students must live within commuting distance; the school operates a shuttle/bus service where available.
Fee payment options and invoicing
- Payment arrangements selectable on the application form include: employer-paid, individually funded, instalments, or one full payment. Invoices may be received via e-mail or post per family preference. The school can invoice an employer when the employer agrees to pay.
Other practical notes on costs and billing
- Optional trips, lunches, replacement of lost/damaged items, supplementary 1:1 support and certain enrichment items are charged separately and vary by service; compulsory field trips are included in the tuition. Registration for optional services such as the shuttle bus is binding for the full academic year and subject to availability.
