Facilities

Resources and spaces that support learning and development

Facilities Overview

The AMADEUS Vienna campus is in Vienna's 18th district and is housed in six historic pavilions built between 1908 and 1910 as part of the Semmelweis Clinic. The grounds are natural, safe, and well maintained, with on-site security and regular safety drills. Pfeiffer House, the new boarding facility, accommodates up to 138 students with gender-segregated wings, each wing including a kitchen and private en-suite rooms, plus a dining hall and common spaces. The AMADEUS Music and Arts Academy (AMAA) operates on campus with a substantial instrument collection available for loan to students. The Marswiese Sports Centre is located a few minutes from campus to support the sports programme, and AMAA spaces support music, art and dance activities integrated with IB programmes.

Sports Facilities

AMADEUS Vienna runs a comprehensive sports programme that covers football, volleyball, cross-country, tennis, basketball, and swimming (seasonally) with padel tennis offered as an extra activity. The Marswiese Sports Centre, located a few minutes from the school, hosts training for these sports in a setting that complements campus activities. The programme operates in three seasonal blocks (Autumn, Winter, Spring) with regular training, matches and DVAC festivals and tournaments. The programme emphasises teamwork, leadership, discipline, and well-being, and is designed to be inclusive, offering opportunities for students of all abilities to participate.

Academic Facilities

The school is fully authorised as an International Baccalaureate Continuum School, offering the Primary Years Programme, Middle Years Programme and Diploma Programme for students aged three to 18. An inquiry-based learning approach supports critical thinking and problem solving, and the commitment to the arts is integrated through the Music and Arts Academy. The campus hosts an international community with over 50 nationalities and multilingual learning environments, supported by small class sizes. English language support is provided to enable all students to excel, German lessons are a requirement up to Grade 10, and mother-tongue support is offered where possible. Primary students receive iPads and Secondary students receive MacBooks to complement coursework, reflecting the school's integration of technology in learning.

Extra-Curricular Activities

The After-School Activities (ASAs) programme offers activities outside the academic day across music, arts, environment, technology and sports, coordinated by school staff or external providers. The Signature Experience Programme (SEP) is core to the curriculum and includes age-appropriate trips, with a published calendar for the 2024-2025 year; SEP is included in the school fees. Sign-up for ASAs is managed via the Parent Resources Page, and the ASA calendar and brochures provide details on available activities. The campus also notes a variety of additional school activities and opportunities for experiential learning through AMADEUS Life and related programmes.
