AMADEUS International School Vienna was founded in 2012 with fewer than 30 students in the Ignaz Semmelweis House. It joined the All-Steinway School classification and earned IB Diploma Programme accreditation, opening Bühler House to support growth. In 2016 it achieved IB Primary Years Programme and IB Middle Years Programme accreditations, becoming a full continuum IB school, and started Early Years for ages 3 to 6. In 2020 it gained IB Career-related Programme accreditation with a focus on music, opened Pfeiffer House, and launched AMADEUS Festival Vienna. By 2022–2023 the student body exceeded 450 students from more than 50 nationalities, and by 2023 enrollment reached about 500; the historic campus comprises six pavilions formerly part of the Semmelweis Clinic (built 1908–1910) and the Board of Trustees is led by Dr Wilson Goh and Mrs Karen Goh.
