The school provides bus transport through a contracted service with MOH. In December 2019 the school ended its contract with MOH; from 2022 a new agreement with the same provider facilitates direct or private transport in collaboration with guardians. Uniform is mandatory for students from 1st grade through 12th grade. For the preschool cycle (Spielgruppe – Prekindergarten – Kindergarten), no fixed uniform is required; children wear an apron or smock over their clothes. On days with physical education they wear gym attire and gym shoes.
The school runs a lunch program via the DSC casino. Lunch prices are 4,500 Chilean pesos; 11 or more lunches cost 4,250. Lunches must be reserved in advance on the casino website; daily menus show three options marked V (Vegetarian), P (Main) and H (Hypocaloric). The lunch includes a daily salad, soup, dessert, and a beverage. Reservations close at 10:00 am; tickets are collected with the DSC credential at a totem outside the casino.
The school is governed by the Board of Directors of the Corporación Colegio Alemán de Concepción. The Director leads and represents the school and is supported by the General Management and the People Management, who advise the Board to ensure continuity of the institutional educational project. The governance model is described as Redarquía, a networked, non-hierarchical structure.
Colégio Alemán de Concepción is a German international school serving students aged 3 to 18. It offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (GIB) alongside a German curriculum and a bespoke curriculum. The IB DP, taught since 2010, is delivered in Spanish, German and English, with Diploma students studying their mother tongue plus additional languages. The GIB core includes Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay and CAS, and the six groups are Studies in Language and Literature (Spanish), Acquisition of Languages (German and English), Individuals and Societies (History in German), Sciences (Biology in German), Mathematics and Arts. The campus includes laboratories, arts and music spaces, a library with an online catalog, a dining hall and first aid. Extracurriculars include CAS and leadership through the Centro de Alumnos and CEFI, plus ACLE arts and Musik Akademie. In 2022 the GIB programme was rated satisfactory by IB inspectors, with CAS and monograph activities.
