The Collège Sévigné is a secular institution under contract of association with the State and follows the programs of the Ministry of National Education. The bilingual primary Sévigné consists of three preschool classes (PS, MS, GS) and two classes per level from CP to CM2, with instruction delivered in French and English on an equal-hour basis starting from the Moyenne Section (MS). True to its tradition, Sévigné aims to educate and nurture the development of the children entrusted to it. The primary school became bilingual starting with the 2016–2017 school year, offering a bicultural educational approach to all families, whether Francophone, Anglophone, bilingual or multilingual, with teaching drawing on translanguaging research and neuroscience.
The College offers regular sports activities through the Association Sportive throughout the school year. The objectives include competitive practice in team sports (basketball), maintenance-based physical activity (fitness), and leisure activities (multisports, table tennis), along with training of young referees and officials and student involvement in AS life (e.g., student representative on the board, team captain, photographer). The annual membership is 50 €, and an information meeting is held each year in September to present the program.
The bilingual primary program provides instruction in French and English with parity of hours from MS onward. The program draws on current research in translanguaging and neuroscience to support a bicultural educational approach for all families, whether French-speaking, English-speaking, bilingual, or multilingual.
On Wednesday mornings, elementary students may participate in after-school workshops from 8:45 to 11:45 in 1 hour 30 minute sessions; students may attend two consecutive workshops.
