Let the school know you're thinking of applying — they can share their prerequisites and help you through the process.
It's best to ask — circumstances can change at any time.
There is no school uniform during school hours. Some activities require appropriate clothing; the school provides each child with an art apron, a windbreaker, a cap and a polo shirt for outdoor activities, as well as sportswear for gym, climbing and other sports, all in the school's colors, and staff ensure pupils are equipped to participate in activities.
Menus are prepared mainly with organically farmed products and are prepared at the school. For the 2024-2025 year, Marmites Volantes provides the meals.
The school is a private hors contrat institution. Its opening is conditioned on approval by the Rectorat, the Mairie, and the Préfecture. It is under the supervision of the Ministère de l'Éducation Nationale, with inspections possible each year. The school does not receive state subsidies.
École Bilingue Chardin is a private bilingual preschool and elementary school in Paris's 16th arrondissement, offering a French and Montessori curriculum for children aged 1 to 12. The school operates on two main campuses at 7 and 11 Rue Chardin, with a third site at the Mona Bismarck Hotel for sports and events, near the Eiffel Tower and Trocadéro. The bilingual English–French program includes a bilingual literacy track and class sizes capped at 20, with two teachers per bilingual class (one native English speaker and one French speaker). The 2-year-old bilingual section follows Montessori pedagogy, emphasizing practical life, language, and sensorimotor activities. Facilities include brand-new classrooms, a bilingual library, dedicated art and sports spaces, a soundproof canteen, and murals by contemporary artists. Partnerships with Musée en Herbe and Galerie Mennour enrich art experiences. After-school care and holiday programs extend learning beyond the day. Classes emphasize language, math, arts and sport.
