Wellbeing and Support

How students are nurtured, understood, and kept safe

English as an Additional Language (EAL)

French and English are taught in equal measure at EIB Grenelle. From nursery to CM2, all subjects are taught in both French and English. The school adds two extra teaching hours per week to support bilingual learning, and classes run every day of the week, including Wednesday mornings. Students are prepared for international certifications: DEFL for French and Cambridge for English. Mandarin is introduced from Year 4 onwards, with two hours of Mandarin per week.

Safeguarding

Safeguarding and pupil welfare are a priority across Globeducate and EIB Paris. Clear child protection policies are in place and accessible to the entire school community. Designated Safeguarding Leads are trained to identify and manage concerns. There are reporting, monitoring and referral protocols, including coordination with authorities such as the Ministry of Education, social services and law enforcement. Prevention is central, with regular staff training to recognise signs of vulnerability or distress and to foster a safe, respectful environment. Families, teachers, staff and external partners are informed about policies and actively participate in safeguarding.

EIB Grenelle is a private bilingual primary school in Paris, part of EIB Paris group. It opened in September 2021 in 7th arrondissement near Les Invalides and welcomes children from nursery to Year 6. The school follows the French Ministry of National Education curriculum with a bilingual programme, offering 50% of classes in English and 50% in French. By the end of elementary school students have covered elements of the official curriculum in both languages. From Year 4, Chinese is taught for two hours per week. The campus provides small classes and personalised support, and the student‑to‑teacher ratio is lower than the average French school. STREAM activities blend science, technology, reading and robotics, engineering, arts and mathematics to support ongoing skill development. The school hosts after‑school activities, bilingual holiday camps, and clubs, including UNESCO and Eco‑Schools projects to foster citizenship and sustainable values. Facilities include gymnasiums and a swimming pool.
