Hattemer Bilingue has existed since 1885, with a mission to lead each student to success through rigorous learning and the constant pursuit of excellence. English instruction has long been part of Hattemer Bilingue, with about half of lessons taught in French and English in nursery and six hours of English per week in elementary. The school is located in the 8th arrondissement of Paris and serves nursery and elementary students aged 3 to 10. From September 2026, Hattemer Bilingue will join the EIB Paris network as EIB Wagram, a bilingual primary school with parity of hours, continuing its values and expanding its pedagogical offering. Hattemer Bilingue is a member of Globeducate, a major global K-12 education network.
Hattemer Bilingue operates the Grand Cours, a weekly oral and written assessment that includes a Grand Cours oral attended by parents in person or at a distance, and weekly sessions inviting parents to observe. Parents are regularly informed of their children's results through daily notebooks, the 'carnets' every three weeks, and an annual prize ceremony. The school engages in Globeducate sustainability initiatives and has earned Eco-Ecole awards, including Eco-Ecole 2025 distinction Or for Hattemer Bilingue 8e; Globeducate's programs emphasize sustainability and international learning. The school's news posts describe activities ranging from a week of study spanning ancient Egypt to robots of the future and biodiversity explorations by students, reflecting a lively, culturally rich community.
Hattemer Bilingue is a private school in Paris offering a bespoke bilingual program in French and English from early years to elementary. It follows a Cambridge Primary framework, with English instruction beginning in maternelle. In the early years, about half the lessons are in English; in elementary, students receive 1 hour 30 minutes of English per day. By Grande Section, learners understand and express themselves in both languages, complemented by a music program. The Hattemer method rests on four pillars: confidence in each child's abilities, explicit knowledge transmission, rigorous deep learning, and recognition of effort and enjoyment. A weekly Grand Cours strengthens writing and speaking, and the curriculum adds extra hours in mathematics and French. From Seconde onward, families choose between bilingual and international tracks; the latter leads to the IB diploma, with IELTS included and university counseling. Hattemer operates across two campuses and joined the EIB network in 2026.
