History

In 1975 Lady Anne Henderson-Stewart founded the bilingual kindergarten. In 1983 La Petite École Française in London for children of all nationalities was established; this London-based school, approved by the Ministry of Education, is fully integrated into the French education system. In 1999 Sir David Henderson-Stewart, owner of the Little French School in London, was awarded the title Knight in the Order of Academic Palms for his contribution to spreading French culture in Great Britain. Lady Anne opened the Petite École Bilingue – Stewart International School in Paris in 1995 with Mrs Véronique Store, our current Academic Director. The school is led by Mrs Nathalie Sidorenko.

La Petite Ecole Bilingue – Stewart International School in Paris is a bilingual English-French day school for children aged 2 to 11. The curriculum blends the French National Education guidelines with the British National Curriculum, delivering instruction in French and English. In Early Years (ages 2–4), activities are taught in English, with bilingual balance beginning in Grande Section. In Primary School, teaching is shared between French and English and delivered by native speakers and certified professionals. The program includes Visual Arts, Theater, Music, Chess and Sports, with a library to support reading development and an evening homework club in either language. Beyond core studies, the school runs Saturday language sessions in Russian, Chinese and Arabic, plus clubs such as Art, Choir, Chess and Chinese Club. Weekly after-school workshops and holiday programs extend learning, with after-school care available. The campus in Paris is at 8 Place de la Porte de Champerret.
