Core academics in Primary follow the English National Curriculum, with two to three half days of French instruction per week. A French Immersion program is available for French language learners. MIS offers after-school STEM activities and hosts the Young Authors competition, expanding learning beyond the classroom and including field trips.
Music Discovery broadens awareness of pitch, rhythm and tempo through singing, instrument play and listening activities. Drama Club provides age-appropriate performance and acting workshops for Pre-Primary through Key Stage 2. Painting/Drawing teaches watercolor techniques with focus on color and form around different themes. Storytelling and Baking Club offer creative expression in narrative and culinary arts.
Malherbe International School is bilingual, with instruction dominantly in English and a strong focus on French through dedicated programs. A French Immersion program is available for language learners, and Seccion Espanola provides Spanish language support. The school hosts multicultural events and celebrates holidays including Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Lunar New Year, Valentine's Day, Mardi Gras, St Patrick's, and Easter. Field trips and performances broaden cultural understanding with visits to theatres, museums and other cultural sites.
After-school activities run from 4:00 to 5:00 pm, Monday to Thursday, with some clubs extending to 6:00 pm on Wednesdays. MIS offers a Mixed Sports club, Sewing and Knitting, Yoga, Chess, Baking, Storytelling, Introduction to Music, Drama Club, Painting/Drawing, and Homework support. Hockey Club and STEM Club provide additional recreation and intellectual engagement.
Sports Day is held in warmer months with mixed-age teams. Yoga Club introduces children to yoga to support lifelong well-being in a caring, non-competitive environment. Residential trips and field trips include outdoor and adventure activities, such as visits to parks, museums and other outdoor sites.
Malherbe International School (MIS) is a bilingual day school in Le Vésinet, France, teaching children from age 2 to 13. Nursery and Pre-school follow Montessori methods, while Primary education is based on the English National Curriculum, with four days per week of English instruction and two to three half-days of French, plus a French immersion option for language learners. The curriculum also includes the British Curriculum, Cambridge IGCSE, and French Curriculum, with a strong emphasis on French language development. The main site is housed in a restored 19th-century residence, with a dedicated library, computer room, and music room; in 2019 the Garden School expansion added a large garden, a preschool library, and wheelchair accessibility. MIS prepares pupils to transfer to home schools or Paris-area middle schools. Features include a Spanish section added in 2013, a bilingual environment, and after-school clubs (STEM, drama, music, languages) that extend learning beyond the classroom.
