The school uses Montessori pedagogy with mixed-age classes and two educators in every class (one Francophone and one Anglophone) to integrate English and French into daily learning. A substantial block of autonomous work each morning, lasting about 2.5 to 3 hours, supports focused, self-directed learning. A comprehensive progress review is conducted twice a year, covering academic progress and emotional development and aligned with the National Education program.
Mercredis découverte offers workshops in French and English with diverse themes that include sports, arts plastiques, sciences, and wellbeing. Arts plastiques are explicitly included as part of the creative activities. Holiday camps feature thematically rich workshops in arts, music, sciences, environment, and sport, with accompanying group activities and outings. These experiences are designed to foster creativity within a bilingual context.
Two educators (a Francophone and an Anglophone) accompany each class, ensuring immersion in both French and English throughout daily learning. Language learning is reinforced by exploring English-speaking culture through celebrations and traditions. Mercredis découverte includes workshops in both French and English to expand linguistic and cultural horizons.
Mercredis découverte and Afterschools emphasize autonomy, wellbeing, and living together, with values such as respect, sharing, and cooperation taught daily. The programs include collaborative activities and outings that foster social interaction and community belonging. A variety of activities are offered in ongoing schedules to support social development and peer engagement.
The Montessori 21 network is a partner of Service Civique, enabling young people to engage in meaningful volunteer missions. The network also carries ESUS status, highlighting its social impact and mission-driven work. These elements reflect the schools' commitment to social responsibility and community engagement.
Collège 21 provides 4 deep-dive sections in the afternoon: Sciences des activités physiques et sportives, Arts vivants, Arts plastiques, and Langues & Médias, allowing students to deepen mastery in areas they are passionate about. In the mornings, classes are smaller (up to 20 students) with individualized plans and interdisciplinary projects. Students may select an afternoon parcours focused on sport, arts, or languages, blending academics with personal interests.
Wellbeing is central, with a belief that a happy, engaged student learns best through a supportive, bilingual environment and personalized guidance. The morning concentration period and collaborative class structure support emotional and social development. Vacation programs also include rest periods and calm activities (such as drawing or meditation) to sustain well-being during breaks.
Montessori 21 Bilingual Schools is a network of ten Montessori campuses across France, plus a college with an adapted timetable. In each class two educators (one Francophone, one Anglophone) guide children, embedding English and French in learning. Classes are mixed-age, about 25–26 pupils, with AMI-trained staff, ensuring a bilingual immersion. From ages 2–6 the emphasis is on oral language; from age 6 written language arises; by age 9, English is used to teach subjects such as history and science. Each morning includes a 2.5–3 hour block of uninterrupted independent work, with Montessori materials organized by learning area. Progress is assessed twice a year through reviews covering French National Education program and emotional development. The network promotes autonomy, collaboration, wellbeing, and celebrates anglophone culture through traditions. Campuses include Aubervilliers-Villette, Paris-Jaurès, Nanterre, Courbevoie, Châtenay-Malabry, Marseille, Pau, Pantin Moderato, Plessis-Robinson, and Chaville. Extracurriculars include Afterschool programs, holiday camps, and Discovery Wednesdays for families.
