AIS offers an expansive extracurricular program that extends learning beyond the classroom. The school emphasises inquiry-based teaching and long collaborative projects that weave multiple disciplines, strengthening reasoning and problem-solving skills. Senior students strengthen their CAS profile through Creative, Active and Service experiences linked to the IB Diploma Programme, with graduation pathways including the IB Diploma Programme, IB Courses, School Based Programs or a Hybrid model.
Creative and Service ECCAs include Mural Making, Rock Band, Arts and Crafts and Clay Making. Additional clubs include Chess Club, Environmental Group, Science Club, Gardening Club, Fundraising Initiatives and the World Scholar's Cup Team. These activities foster creativity, collaboration and service beyond the classroom.
Students connect through a diverse array of clubs and activities that support friendships and personal interests. The Student Representative Council, World Scholar's Cup Team, Mural Making, Rock Band, Chess Club, Environmental Group, Science Club, Arts and Crafts, Fundraising Initiatives, Gardening Club and Clay Making are among the options. Community and service opportunities are provided through CAS-aligned activities and service-oriented ECCAs. Students participate in the Environmental Group, Fundraising Initiatives, Gardening Club and other service-driven pursuits. These experiences enhance civic responsibility and social impact within the AIS community.
Leadership opportunities are provided through the Student Representative Council and participation in enterprise-focused activities. These roles develop leadership, teamwork and professional skills as students take an active part in school life.
Wellbeing is central to AIS, with restorative practices, social and emotional thinking and Keeping Safe: Child Protection Curriculum. Spending extended time outdoors develops resilience, independence and self-confidence and teaches students to respect the natural environment. Physical education and outdoor education are integral to the program and help students meet age-appropriate physical and social challenges.
Australian Independent School Jakarta is an independent international school in Indonesia offering a blended Australian Curriculum and IB pathway for students aged 3 to 18. The program follows the Australian Curriculum through Year 10, with Years 11–12 available as the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme or related options, and a Vocational Education & Training pathway for routes beyond university. AIS operates Preschool to Year 12 across Jakarta and Bali, with the Jakarta campus at Jl. Pejaten Barat No. 68. The school emphasises inquiry-based learning and the development of communication and critical-thinking skills, supporting diverse learners through Learning Support Services and Student Services Centre. Facilities include on-site health services, bus and canteen operations, and a sports program including basketball, tennis, swimming, taekwondo and more. The school moved to its Jakarta campus in 2021 and is advancing a Nusantara master development that will include vocational and special education centres and an Australian university.
