The language of instruction for all subjects is English, except for Indonesian Studies, which is conducted in Indonesian. In secondary school, language options can include French, Japanese, Korean and Spanish. AIS provides an English as Additional Language (EAL) program for students who do not speak English, after an in-depth observation by our EAL teachers.
Australian Independent School Jakarta is an independent international school in Indonesia offering a blended Australian Curriculum and IB pathway for students aged 3 to 18. The program follows the Australian Curriculum through Year 10, with Years 11–12 available as the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme or related options, and a Vocational Education & Training pathway for routes beyond university. AIS operates Preschool to Year 12 across Jakarta and Bali, with the Jakarta campus at Jl. Pejaten Barat No. 68. The school emphasises inquiry-based learning and the development of communication and critical-thinking skills, supporting diverse learners through Learning Support Services and Student Services Centre. Facilities include on-site health services, bus and canteen operations, and a sports program including basketball, tennis, swimming, taekwondo and more. The school moved to its Jakarta campus in 2021 and is advancing a Nusantara master development that will include vocational and special education centres and an Australian university.
