Social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth is a core aim for every student. The school builds students' self-esteem and brings out the best in each child. Learning is active and hands-on, with students engaging in inquiry-based and project-based activities. The approach is student-centred and holistic, balancing knowledge, skills and attitudes. The school fosters international-mindedness while preserving Indonesian culture, helping students develop empathy, collaboration and responsible citizenship.
We are an inclusive school that provides equal opportunities for all children, including those with special needs, to grow and thrive. The brochure explicitly notes this inclusive approach and welcoming environment for children with special needs. Sekolah Pilar Indonesia integrates the national curriculum with international curricula to support diverse learner needs.
English is a core language of instruction with a comprehensive English language program. Comprehensive English language is listed as part of the Teaching and Learning Approach alongside national requirements within an interdisciplinary framework. The curriculum supports English language development across the IB-PYP and national standards.
Student wellbeing is a focus of the school. The Welcoming Assembly speech emphasised wellbeing as part of the school's ethos and life at Sekolah Pilar Indonesia.
