Opened in July 2008. The first cohort of Grade 12 students graduated in June 2012. The school offers a UK Early Years Foundation Stage for the early years and Cambridge Curriculum for the upper primary years, within an inquiry-based learning framework. It is located in the CBD Lot XV BSD City, Tangerang, Indonesia.
SWA has an international community with students from more than 16 nations. Life at SWA includes activities and events, with a strong Parents Association (PA) as the representative body of the school's parent community. PA representatives are selected annually from each grade level; the PA meetings are led by an executive committee to advise the educational leadership on matters relating to improving education and promoting parental involvement. The SWA community runs partnerships and initiatives such as the Visi Bersama collaboration with Gojek and student projects like OceanVoyager, which have received external recognition and support. Mental health initiatives and other community programs also feature in SWA life.
The Parents Association (PA) is the representative body of the school's parent community. The PA promotes the interests of students in cooperation with the school board, educational leadership team, teachers and students of Sinarmas World Academy. PA representatives are selected annually from the parents in each grade level and meet regularly under their own executive committee to advise the educational leadership on matters relating to improving the quality of education and to determine a programme of activities which will promote the involvement of parents in school events. The PA is an essential partner in achieving the School's Vision, Mission, and Values.
Sinarmas World Academy is a co-educational international school in Tangerang, Indonesia, offering a blend of Cambridge and International Baccalaureate programs. The school opens with the UK Early Years Foundation Stage and then uses Cambridge Primary in the early years, followed by Cambridge Secondary. In Grades 6–8, Cambridge CAIE content is integrated within the IB Middle Years Programme, and the school prepares students for the IB Diploma Programme, IGCSE, and the IB DP. Language and culture programs include Mandarin and Indonesian, with exclusive student exchange partnerships such as with Peking University Elementary School. Established in 2008, the campus is organized into sections for Whole School, Early Years & Elementary, and Middle & High School.
