The facility is purpose-built and includes three science laboratories, a computer lab, large classrooms, a gymnasium, an Olympic-size swimming pool, two art rooms, a ceramics room, and abundant green space. The campus emphasizes safety with restricted guest access and on-site security. The environment supports a broad range of learning activities across academics, the arts, and physical education.
The SIS campus is equipped for sports and physical education. It includes an Olympic-size swimming pool and a full basketball court, enabling swimming and basketball activities. A soccer field is available for outdoor sports. There is ample outdoor space and green areas for outdoor activities. The campus layout supports safe, supervised athletic activities.
SIS is an IB World School offering the Primary Years Programme (PYP) in Elementary. The Elementary curriculum emphasizes inquiry-based learning and the development of the whole child, including Bahasa Indonesia, art, music, physical education, swimming, and technology. Middle School curriculum is based on United States standards, uses the Understanding by Design framework, and features a 1:1 laptop program with Google Classroom; core courses are English, social studies, math, and science, with specialist courses in physical education, technology, foreign language, speech and debate, art, music, and drama. High School offers Advanced Placement (AP) courses, including an AP Capstone Diploma, with electives in music, art, and drama; languages include French, Bahasa Indonesia, and Mandarin, and course offerings span math, science, English, computer science, history, geography, art, psychology, and economics. The school is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
Electives include music, art, and drama, with bands giving regular performances and an annual art show. Students participate in drama productions as part of the arts program. Speech and debate is offered as an extracurricular activity. The secondary school advisory program meets weekly to foster a love of learning, community spirit, and responsibility to self and others. Surabaya Intercultural School serves students aged 1 to 18, delivering an international curriculum across divisions.
