Security is prioritized with a guarded front gate and restricted vehicle access to the campus.

Yogyakarta Independent School (YIS) is a private international school offering the complete International Baccalaureate continuum for ages 3 to 18, including the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP). The language of instruction is English, with French, Spanish and Indonesian integrated into the curriculum. Bahasa Indonesia/Indonesian Studies, Agama and Pancasila are taught for Indonesian students during regular school hours.
