The campus includes a Planetarium with a six‑metre diameter dome that seats about 60 people. The Planetarium uses a Galileo projection system to display around 1,000 stars up to magnitude 4.75 and to illustrate celestial phenomena. The Planetarium is complemented by an astronomical observatory with a 30 cm reflector telescope, a solar observatory with a spectrograph, and a meteorological station with a Meteosat data receiver. There is an on‑site library for study, and a daily canteen service (Mensa) with menus approved by ULSS 2.
Pio X International offers a four‑year course of study split into two biennial curricula: the Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB DP). At the end of each biennium, students sit external examinations in each subject studied. The aim is to place the student at the center of the learning process, with teaching and learning methods designed to develop the talents of each student by building the learner profile: Caring, Communicators, Knowledgeable, Inquirers, Open‑minded, Reflective, Thinkers, Balanced, Risk‑takers, Principled. All subjects, with the exception of Italian, religion and foreign language, are taught in English by IB‑certified teachers; the Creativity, Activity and Service (CAS), Theory of Knowledge (TOK) and the Extended Essay (EE) make the IB Diploma a unique and complete educational experience. At the end of four years, the student earns the prestigious IB Diploma, which provides access to leading universities worldwide and in Italy; the official equivalence recognized by the Ministry of Education guarantees the validity of a Diploma di Stato in linguistic, scientific or human sciences.
The IB Diploma includes Creativity, Activity and Service (CAS), Theory of Knowledge (TOK) and the Extended Essay (EE) as integral components of the program. These elements place the learner at the center of the educational experience and foster high‑level skills for life‑long learning. The Planetarium also supports astronomy‑focused educational activities as part of extracurricular learning.
