Introduction

Located in Cuajimalpa, Colegio Ciudad de México operates two campuses, Polanco and Contadero. The Contadero Plantel offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum, with Preescolar following the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) and instruction in English. The preschool uses a neurodevelopment-informed approach that blends inquiry-based learning with a focus on sensory, motor, visuo-spatial and perceptual development, while prioritizing emotional well-being. Children learn through projects and experiences across diverse environments—the forest, outdoor spaces, the farm, classrooms, and nature—turning everyday spaces into active learning settings. Life skills are cultivated through programs in musical initiation, psychomotricity, makerspace, digital laboratory, art, physical education, and sustainable development, helping children become autonomous, curious, and globally minded. After-school care is available for Preescolar and PreFirst from Monday to Thursday, 1:00–5:00 p.m. Contadero also offers the IB Diploma and maintains Preschool, Primary, and Secondary sections with English-language programming. Founded in 1977. Contact: 55 5812 0610 ext. 2119; pr.cont@colegiociudad.edu.mx.

Fees
Application / Admission fees

- The school charges an application/admission fee and an admission exam fee at the time of registration; the exam/admission payment is non‑refundable.

Initial contribution / Aportación inicial (new students)

- A one‑time initial contribution is required from new entrants and is charged at enrollment. This payment is treated as a single, non‑refundable charge except in the narrow circumstance that the institution itself cancels the student's registration before the start of the academic year.

Tuition (structure by school stage and billing frequency)

- Tuition is structured by educational level (maternal / preescolar / kínder / primaria / secundaria / preparatoria). The school bills tuition on an installment schedule rather than only a single annual invoice.
- The standard billing frequency is a multi‑installment plan (ten monthly installments over the academic cycle is the established format historically used). Parents may also be offered alternative schedules (annual or semestral) with the corresponding discounts applied when those options are used. Tuition payments are due at the start of each payment period.

Billing schedule and payment terms

- Regular tuition payments are due within the first ten natural days of the month or of the relevant payment period. Payments made after the due date incur a monthly surcharge (an accumulated percentage penalty for late payment). Payments made very early in the period may receive a small prompt‑payment discount in accordance with the school's payment rules.
- Re‑registration (reinscripción) is processed during the published registration window; being current on tuition, transport and after‑school payments is a requirement for re‑registration.

Boarding fees

- Boarding is not applicable to Plantel Contadero; the plantel provides day‑school services (preescolar, primaria and secundaria) and does not operate as a residential/boarding campus.

Other mandatory and common additional costs

- Reinscripción / paquete de reinscripción: an annual re‑registration package is charged and typically includes items such as school insurance, credentials, a basic package of books and supplies, yearbook/agenda and certain administrative items. This package is charged at re‑enrollment each year.
- Uniforms: a uniform cost applies; uniforms are managed separately from tuition and are not included in the standard tuition or the re‑registration package.
- Meals / cafeteria: food service charges or a cafeteria fee apply where families use the school meal program; these are billed separately.
- After‑school / horario extendido and extracurriculars: optional extended hours and extracurricular programs carry separate fees and must be paid in addition to tuition.
- Transportation: the campus requires school transportation from certain levels (mandatory from KIII through 3º de Secundaria at this plantel); transport is contracted through an external operator and is billed separately. Transport registration and fees are handled independently of the tuition invoice.
- Family association and similar periodic charges: the plantel's parent association may collect an annual fee or periodic contributions; amounts and timing are set by the association.

Refund and cancellation rules

- Prepaid tuition for months not yet attended is refundable upon written request and presentation of payment proof; any refund is processed through the school's administrative office. Partial‑month attendance does not generate a pro‑rata credit—the institution requires full payment for any month in which the pupil attends.
- Payments for initial contribution, registration and re‑registration are handled as non‑refundable, except where the school itself cancels the student's enrollment prior to the start of the academic year. Outstanding debts at the time of withdrawal remain due and must be settled in full before any administrative steps are completed.

Accepted payment methods and administrative payment details

- The school accepts electronic and card payments through its online payment portal and processes recurring charges by card (American Express, Visa and MasterCard where authorized). Payments may also be made at the campus cashier by card or by cheque where accepted. Cash payments are restricted for security reasons. When parents pay by bank deposit or transfer they must send the payment receipt to the plantel's finance or admissions email address for correct application. The institution provides bank details for transfers (CLABE) for electronic payments. Returned cheques incur contractual penalties.

What to expect on invoicing and delinquency

- Invoices show the payment concept (tuition, transport, after‑school, reinscripción, etc.). The system may automatically apply incoming payments to the oldest outstanding balance. Repeated non‑payment (for example, three or more months overdue) can lead to suspension of services and exclusion from classes until the account is regularized.

Summary note for planning (amounts not published on public plantel pages)

- Plantel Contadero organizes fees into the categories above (admission/exam fees, initial contribution for new students, annual re‑registration package, tuition paid on an installment schedule, transport, uniforms, meals, after‑school and association charges). Exact numeric amounts for the current academic cycle are not published on the plantel's public pages; parents should confirm the current numeric amounts and any level‑specific figures directly with the plantel's admissions or finance office when preparing enrollment commitments.
Academics

Colegio Ciudad de México - Plantel Contadero teaches IB (PYP).

Curriculum

Preescolar Plantel Contadero offers a rich, holistic education that respects the development and maturation of each child. The preschool focuses on stimulating sensory, motor, visuo-spatial, and perceptual areas, with emotional well-being and motivation to learn at the center. Learning is guided by neurodevelopment: children move, play, feel, and experience to strengthen neural connections, and experiences foster creativity, imagination, language, logical thinking, and social skills. Inspired by the International Baccalaureate (IB), the approach promotes inquiry as the engine of learning, with children as active explorers who develop autonomy, confidence, and critical thinking. The academic program is completely in English and is enriched by experiences in diverse learning environments—the forest, outdoor spaces, the farm, classrooms, and nature—where each space becomes a living setting for exploration and discovery. Life skills are developed through projects and classes in musical initiation, psychomotricity, makes space, digital laboratory, art, physical education, and sustainable development, forming children who are thoughtful, responsible, and engaged with their environment. The preschool combines neurodevelopment and IB education to provide every child with the tools to grow happily, safely, and with a global worldview. After School is offered for Preescolar and PreFirst from Monday to Thursday, 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a variety of recreational, sports, and cultural activities and a healthy meals program.
