Parent Experience

Community, involvement and what it's like to be a parent at this school

History

Lomas Hill is a private, secular, non-politically-affiliated educational institution. It offers a globally competitive multicultural and bilingual education and is committed to human development, the environment and our society. The school began in 2002 with a modern, bilingual and constructivist educational proposal, developing from the beginning the individual and unique competences of each student and fostering an environment of respect and equality. The Lomas Hill Experience emphasizes a comprehensive education in an affable, respectful environment where students can develop their maximum potential and have a voice in their spaces and work groups, while promoting self-improvement and respecting character and individuality. The 2020-2030 vision frames Lomas Hill as the educational connection guiding students toward their path in a globalized, highly technological world.

Community

Today we prosper as a community of students, parents, teachers, and staff, with whom we create, agree upon and share the dream of seeing a goal materialized, and also enjoy and celebrate with pride, dignity and happiness, the process and experiences of learning that are gained day by day. The Lomas Hill Experience emphasizes a comprehensive education in an affable, respectful environment where each student can develop their maximum potential and have a voice in their spaces. The School for Parents program fosters ongoing parent involvement through orientation, talks and workshops organized by the school according to the ages of children, and emphasizes that fluid communication between parents and the school is a fundamental principle of the community spirit.

Parent-Teacher Association

The school has a School for Parents program. Orientation for performance is offered, with talks and workshops organized by the school according to the ages of children. The program emphasizes that the school and parents form a learning community and maintain fluid communication as a fundamental principle of the community spirit. Topics include formative discipline, limits and responsibilities, safe handling of social networks for children and infants, and strategies to prevent bullying. Active parental participation is believed to improve children's performance, both as students and as humans. Today we prosper as a community of students, parents, teachers, and staff.
