History
FORMUS began in 1972 when Úrsula Werren de Bolaños taught the first music classes to her children and a small group of family and friends in her home. In 1975 the music program was formalized as the Escuela de Música, later known as FORMUS. In 1988 the project expanded to start the Kindergarten and was constituted as a nonprofit civil association under Formación Educativa y Musical A.C., adopting a constructivist pedagogy that aims for intellectual and socio-moral autonomy and the development of artistic sensitivity. Primary began in 1993 and Secondary began in 1997, with both levels operating in parallel for ten years, and in 2014 the school consolidated all operations at the La Estanzuela facilities.
