The Peterson School was founded in Mexico City by Dr. Marvin and Leni Peterson. It began in what is now the Lomas Campus and grew into a private, non-denominational, non-profit group of schools with campuses in Cuajimalpa, Lomas, and Pedregal. Ken Peterson has served as Director General since 1994. The school marked its 60th anniversary in 2025, reflecting six decades of education led by the Peterson family. The Montessori program is delivered entirely in English across the campuses.
The Peterson Community is a group of students, families and faculty across Cuajimalpa, Lomas and Pedregal campuses. It is built around a mission to inspire passion for learning and life and to deliver a dynamic Montessori experience in English. The community hosts and participates in events such as International Career Day and Peterson International Day, with activities highlighted in school news. Annual events include inter-school athletics and campus celebrations such as the Legends Cup and Viking Run.
At the Peterson Schools, parents play an active role as class representatives, members of our committees or as members of the Board of Trustees. The Parent Association was created to promote better communication between home and school. It hosts a variety of events throughout the year to raise funds for school projects. These events offer healthy fun for attendees. The Parent Association provides a formal channel for families to participate in school life.
