Winpenny School is a British international school located in Cuajimalpa, Mexico City, serving children from age 3 to 18 (Kinder 1 to Grade 12). The curriculum follows IEYC and IPC in Early Years; IPC and Cambridge Primary English with Abacus Mathematics in Primary; and IMYC (Grades 6–8), Cambridge IGCSE (Grades 9–10) and the IB Diploma Programme (Grades 11–12) in Secondary. English is the language of instruction throughout, with 80% of the day in English in Early Years, 70% in Primary and 70% in Secondary; 30% of the day includes Spanish (PE, music, language and social studies). The school holds UNAM accreditation and follows SEP requirements; technology is integrated with Google Workspace for Education and BYOD. Facilities include 36 classrooms, a science lab, an art studio, two music studios, library and Early Years centre, plus football field and a basketball court. Founded in 1992, Winpenny serves 500 students with 60 teachers.

Winpenny School teaches IEYC (International Early Years Curriculum), IPC (International Primary Curriculum), Cambridge (Primary), IMYC (International Middle Years Curriculum), Cambridge IGCSE, IB (DP) for students aged 3 to 18.
Early Years: English is taught for 80% of the day; the Kinder curriculum follows the International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC) and the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), with play-based, enquiry-led learning. Primary: English is taught for 70% of the day; IPC, Cambridge Primary English and Abacus Mathematics from the UK are used; 30% of the day is taught in Spanish; the SEP framework is followed. Secondary: English is taught for 70% of the day; Lower Secondary uses the International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC); Upper Secondary offers Cambridge IGCSE (Grades 9–10) and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (Grades 11–12); UNAM accreditation is in place and SEP requirements are followed. Technology is integrated with Google Workspace for Education and BYOD across levels.
The school provides Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) in Early Years, teaching skills for learning, empathy, emotion management, friendship skills and problem-solving.
The school offers English Language Support (EAL). Children arriving with little or no English receive after-school tutoring; in the classroom, teachers use strategies for English as an Additional Language (EAL) learners in every lesson. All teachers are given training about teaching EAL learners at the beginning of every year. In Early Years, children learn in English for 80% of the day.
Wellbeing is central to Winpenny's philosophy; the wellbeing of each child is crucial to their success. The school supports mental wellbeing through its SEL programme and via Circle Around the Child, which includes School Counsellors, Heads of School and Deputy Heads who monitor progress.
Circle Around the Child is the group of adults responsible for ensuring that all children thrive academically, socially and emotionally. The team includes School Counsellors, Heads of School and Deputy Heads; they hold weekly meetings to track every child's progress. Every child's progress is reviewed at least three times a year and parents can arrange appointments to discuss concerns.
Admissions are open throughout the year depending on availability.
Mexico-based families:
1. Contact us for information about fees and to book a tour. This provides fee information and the opportunity to schedule a tour. It begins the admissions process.
2. Make an appointment for your child's evaluation. The appointment sets the time for the evaluation and advances the process.
3. Submit the required documentation to our Director of Admissions. The required documentation includes a copy of your child's transcript and his/her most recent grades, a letter of good behaviour from the current school, and a completed recommendation form sent directly from your current school.
4. Your child will complete his/her evaluation in school. The evaluation is conducted at Winpenny School.
5. You will receive feedback of the evaluation within five working days. If a space is offered, the registration fee will need to be paid within a week.
Placement: Children will be placed based on their age on 31st December of the year when they enter school. For example, a child who would have their 6th birthday in December 2019 would be able to start Grade 1 in August 2019. If appropriate, prior schooling will be taken into consideration.
Overseas families:
1. Contact us for information about fees.
2. Provide contact details of the Head of School at your child's current school.
3. Submit the required documentation to our Director of Admissions.
4. Your child will complete the Winpenny evaluation in his/her current school.
5. You will receive feedback of the evaluation within five working days. If a space is offered, the registration fee will need to be paid within two weeks.
