International School Delft offers the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP). Language and Literature are taught in English and Dutch, with English Language Acquisition available for non-native English speakers, and Dutch offered as an Acquisition language. In the MYP, students complete at least one interdisciplinary unit and undertake a Community Project in MYP 3 and a Personal Project in MYP 4–5, developing ATL skills and independent learning. Close connections with TU Delft and design-thinking experts provide a design-focused dimension to the curriculum.
The MYP includes Visual Arts and Performing Arts, with exposure to both visual and performing arts in MYP 1–3 and Visual Arts offered as a subject in MYP 4–5. Music is available as an after‑school programme for MYP 4 and 5 students.
English and Dutch are the languages of instruction for Language and Literature; English Language Acquisition is offered for learners who are not native English speakers, and Dutch is offered as an Acquisition language. In MYP1, students choose either Spanish or French. The school supports maintaining home languages through mother-tongue after-school groups initiated by parents with support from a mother-tongue coordinator.
After-school activities are offered and the program changes each semester to provide variety for all students. Examples include Karate, Lego, Drama, Chinese language and culture, Philosophy, and Garden Club.
MYP 3 includes a Community Project where students collaborate in project teams to pursue service learning. In MYP 4 students begin the Personal Project, an independent piece of work led by the Personal Project coordinator; the Personal Project comprises a process, a product and a report and is showcased in the Personal Project Exhibition.
Careers Guidance supports planning for future pathways, and Service as Action is a component of the MYP. The school also features a Division Council as part of its governance structure.
Physical and Health Education is an integral part of the MYP, with three hours of PHE taught throughout the programme. Mentor Hour covers Healthy Lifestyle, Digital Citizenship and Approaches to Learning.
The International School Delft (ISD) is an IB World School delivering a full continuum of International Baccalaureate from age 4 to 18. The Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP) are taught in English, with Dutch offered as the host-country language and home languages supported. The DP began in 2023/2024 with the goal of completing the continuum by 2024/2025, and students study across six subject groups with some Higher Level and others Standard Level courses. ISD emphasizes digital citizenship and 21st-century skills, using MacBooks for online learning in the Secondary School. The school maintains close links with Delft University of Technology, with campuses on TU Delft grounds: a primary campus on the TU Campus and an updated secondary campus opened in 2025/2026 with a capacity of 440 students. ISD is governed by Laurentius Stichting (Primary) and Lucas Stichting (Secondary), supporting a vertically aligned IB experience.
