The International School Delft is an IB World school serving the Delft region, with English as the language of instruction for students aged 4 to 18. ISD was launched in 2014 as a small international primary school with fewer than 10 students. The primary campus began the 2020-2021 school year with approximately 200 students and is governed by the Laurentius Stichting. ISD's secondary campus opened in 2019 to meet growing demand for international secondary education, creating a vertically aligned IB school for Primary and Secondary Education. The IB Middle Years Programme and the IB Diploma Programme have been offered from August 2023, and the school maintains close links to Delft University of Technology. The school is uniquely located in the historic town of Delft and is connected to TU Delft and other local partners; the two school boards, Laurentius Stichting for Primary and Lucas Stichting for Secondary, work together to govern a continuous IB program.
ISD has a tight-knit and friendly community of students, staff and parents from a culturally diverse background. ISD aims to be a hub for the international and local communities of Delft and develops links with other international and national schools in the region. ISD is closely connected to partners such as the Technical University Delft, True Colors childcare, the City of Delft and many others, and is linked to a variety of companies and cultural and social organisations in the Delft region.
ISD has a Parent Teacher Social Committee Association (PTA) to enhance the role parents can play in organising social and community-oriented events. The PTA provides a formal channel for parental involvement in ISD's social activities. ISD's community also includes a Participation Council (MR) to provide staff, parents and students input on school vision and planning, with a plan to establish a whole-school MR for the 2020-2021 academic year. ISD is governed by two boards: Laurentius Stichting (primary) and Lucas Stichting (secondary), which work closely together to support the vertically integrated IB program.
The International School Delft (ISD) is an IB World School delivering a full continuum of International Baccalaureate from age 4 to 18. The Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP) are taught in English, with Dutch offered as the host-country language and home languages supported. The DP began in 2023/2024 with the goal of completing the continuum by 2024/2025, and students study across six subject groups with some Higher Level and others Standard Level courses. ISD emphasizes digital citizenship and 21st-century skills, using MacBooks for online learning in the Secondary School. The school maintains close links with Delft University of Technology, with campuses on TU Delft grounds: a primary campus on the TU Campus and an updated secondary campus opened in 2025/2026 with a capacity of 440 students. ISD is governed by Laurentius Stichting (Primary) and Lucas Stichting (Secondary), supporting a vertically aligned IB experience.
