Billing schedule and payment terms

- Fees are invoiced annually for the school year. For returning students, invoices are due in August before the school year begins in September.
- New students who start in September are invoiced within their first month of attendance.
- Students joining during the school year are charged pro rata in half-term units and invoiced accordingly.
- Foundation Stage annual fees may be paid in three instalments (per-term amounts are published for Foundation). For other year groups, alternative staged payment arrangements may be considered in exceptional circumstances by application to the Finance Department; the school does not offer fee discounts.

Leaving, refunds and reimbursement rules

- Application fee: refundable only if the school is unable to offer a place; otherwise non-refundable.
- Termly reimbursement policy for students who leave mid-year (academic year 2025–2026 deadlines):
- To be reimbursed two terms' fees when leaving at end of Autumn Term (Autumn Term end date: Friday 19 December 2025), the school must receive formal notice by Tuesday 30 September 2025.
- To be reimbursed one term's fee when leaving at end of Spring Term (Spring Term end date: Wednesday 1 April 2026), the school must receive formal notice by Friday 30 January 2026.
- No reimbursement is made for leaving at end of Summer Term (Summer Term end date: Thursday 9 July 2026) unless formal notice is received by Thursday 30 April 2026.
- If formal notice deadlines are missed, the school applies the following liabilities for the subsequent term: 0% (if notice by the formal date), 50% (if notice within the following month), or 100% (if notice after that month) as specified for each term. Students leaving must meet all financial obligations before records are released. Exact dates and percentages for Autumn, Spring and Summer term deadlines and charges are published for the 2025–2026 year.

Boarding fees

- Boarding is not offered; the school operates as a day school. There are no boarding fees.

Other costs and additional fees

- Uniform: expect an initial basic set to cost approximately EUR 250; additional kit may be needed for sports or co-curricular activities. Uniform items are not included in school fees. Second‑hand uniform options are available through the parent association.
- Transport (school bus / coach): costs vary by service type, route and distance. Example (Senior School Voorschoten coach service rates):
- Coach two-way: Autumn EUR 1,305; Spring EUR 1,059; Summer EUR 1,041; Annual EUR 3,405 (day-rate equivalents are published for comparison only).
- Coach one-way: Autumn EUR 853; Spring EUR 693; Summer EUR 679; Annual EUR 2,225.
- Minimum registration is one term; fees cover transport only. Actual cost depends on chosen service and location.
- Learning Support Assistant (if required): EUR 51,480 per student (separate cost where a Learning Support Assistant is provided).
- Food and incidental spend: a small daily allowance for the senior school café may apply; not included in fees. Extra-curricular optional activities, some optional exams, trips beyond the compulsory curriculum, private music tuition, and specialist equipment may incur additional charges. Transport and other optional services are billed separately.

Refunds and exceptional arrangements

- Application fee: refundable only when the school is unable to offer a place. Enrolment fee and Capital Fee are treated as stated (enrolment is a one-off payment on acceptance; capital fee is charged annually from Year 1). The school provides termly reimbursement when formal notice is given by the published deadlines; missing notice deadlines creates financial liability for the subsequent term as defined above. Alternative staged payment arrangements may be requested in exceptional financial circumstances and are considered by the Finance Department.

Fee payment options and instructions

- Fees are issued on formal invoices with payment instructions and standard invoicing schedules (annual invoicing with the return-student due date in August). The school may consider alternative staged payment plans in exceptional circumstances through the Finance Department. Specific payment methods (for example, bank transfer or card acceptance) and bank/payment details are provided on the formal invoice and in the school's billing information. Parents are expected to follow the invoice payment instructions and the published payment timetable.

Welcome to Senior School Voorschoten (SSV), an international campus within The British School in The Netherlands. Located in a suburban area, SSV educates students aged 11 to 18 in English. Students follow the British National Curriculum up to GCSEs. In the Sixth Form, they choose between four distinct pathways: A Levels, BTEC qualifications, the IB Diploma, or the IB Career-related Programme. The campus features dedicated subject spaces, an atrium, and a student-led Eco-Garden that integrates environmental awareness into daily life. SSV is particularly known for its extensive co-curricular options, including a long-running Model United Nations (MUN) society where students debate global issues across Europe. Additionally, students participate in the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, completing community service and independent expeditions. Through targeted Mother Tongue Enrichment and Dutch language exams (CNaVT), SSV ensures students connect deeply with the local culture while preparing for global university destinations.
