Wellbeing and Support

How students are nurtured, understood, and kept safe

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

The school has a primary aim to prepare the children to cope in the modern world. In addition to functioning and learning in two languages simultaneously, the school places great importance on proper social and emotional development of the child and the ability to think independently. The aims of the school include bilingual education that blends Polish and Canadian educational approaches. The school cares for the personal culture of each student and ensures safety and a friendly atmosphere. The school fosters independence and curiosity by encouraging self-guided learning.

English as an Additional Language (EAL)

Education in English is delivered through an immersion method with natural contact with the language. Language is the tool needed to acquire knowledge, and learning takes place during lessons led by qualified educators from Canada. English-language instruction is part of the bilingual framework that combines Polish and Canadian educational practices.

Mental Wellbeing

Mental wellbeing is addressed within the Educational and Preventive Program. The program includes prevention of peer violence and support for the mental health of children and adolescents, including assistance during mental crises and addiction prevention. It aims to build mental balance, self-esteem, and healthy attitudes toward health and safety. It also promotes digital hygiene and safe online navigation, developing critical thinking about information online.

Safeguarding

The school has Child Protection Standards in place. The standards cover safe recruitment of staff and safeguarding practices to protect minors, including staff training and verification procedures. Staff sign declarations confirming awareness of the standards and commitment to uphold them, and there are clear rules for safe, professional relationships between staff and students. The standards also require confidentiality and appropriate handling of safeguarding concerns, with procedures for reporting and responding to incidents.
