Admissions

How to apply, waitlist information, and financial support

Admissions Process

1. Start the application through OpenApply, ASV's digital admissions platform. Determine the appropriate entry level for your child: PreKinder 3 if born in 2022, or Nursery for births in 2023 or 2024. Create an OpenApply account and begin the Application for Admission; you can also schedule a guided tour or apply now online.

2. Submit the Application for Admission in detail and include transcripts for the previous three academic years as appropriate. Include any standardized test scores as part of the materials. Admissions interviews and evaluations are conducted at all grade levels (Nursery through Grade 12) at the discretion of the school.

3. Admissions Evaluation is conducted as part of the comprehensive process, with English and Mathematics assessments and MAP used for English reading and Mathematics. Evaluations may take place at ASV or at the applicant's current school; if testing abroad, provide a staff contact who can supervise the examination.

4. Admissions Criteria include multiple factors such as academic suitability, evaluation results, grade level availability, educational philosophy compatibility, alumni status and English proficiency. Each Application for Admission is reviewed individually by the Admissions team to determine compatibility with ASV's standards.

5. Communicating the Decision: The school informs families by telephone, email or OpenApply about the decision. An admission requires enrollment within ten days; documents and payments not received in that period place the student on the Waiting List. Non-admission is communicated if the applicant does not meet the Admissions Evaluation requirements.

6. Waiting Pool: If there is no space in the relevant grade, the family may be placed on the Waiting Pool. When a space becomes available, ASV revisits all waiting list applications and applies admission criteria to offer the place to the most suitable candidate.

7. Starting at ASV: You will receive a Welcome email in July, or upon registration if you enroll later, with key dates, basic supplies list and your school accounts and passwords. You will also receive a Welcome email from the Principal with additional information, and all relevant details are available in the ASV OpenApply app.

Waitlist

ASV maintains a waiting list. If an applicant is offered a place on the waiting list, availability is typically reviewed in March when current students re-enroll for the upcoming academic year, with openings possible as late as September. When a space becomes available in the grade concerned, the school revisits all waiting list applications and applies admission criteria to offer the place to the most suitable candidate.

Scholarships and Financial Aid

ASV Foundation Summer Scholarships are offered for participation in the ASV Summer Program. Recipients spend part of their holidays learning English and sharing experiences with peers from Valencia and other towns. The program was publicly recognized in 2018 during a school assembly.
