Language learning opportunities and multilingual education

Language Provision

English and Spanish are the core bilingual languages offered across all divisions. French is introduced from Year 7 as a third language taught by native teachers. Mandarin is available as an extracurricular language. Examinations include Cambridge qualifications (First Certificate, Advanced, Proficiency, IGCSE) and DELF B2, with DELF A1 available for French in Lower Secondary.

Bilingual Teaching

Across each division, the school provides bilingual Spanish and English language tuition. In Year 7, students demonstrate the use of Spanish, French and English in lessons. Mandarin is available as extended language tuition as they progress through the school. Pupils study the English National Curriculum from pre-nursery to Year 9, and from Year 10 they can choose to follow the Spanish Curriculum to Year 13 (2 Bachillerato) or continue with the English National Curriculum to Year 13 (IB).

Immersion Programs

British immersion with native teachers is provided in the Infant Department and continued in the Primary Department. Lower Secondary continues with British immersion and native teachers and adds French language tuition with official DELF A1 examinations. Mandarin is offered as an extracurricular language.
