Bateen World Academy opened in 2011 as a private, co-educational school in Abu Dhabi. It operates within the Aldar Academies network, a group of ADEK-ranked international schools led under Aldar Education. The curriculum combines an adapted English National Curriculum with progression to the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme in the senior years. The school serves a diverse student body drawn from more than sixty nationalities, reflecting its international character. The school's leadership and governance align with Aldar Academies' commitments to purpose, promise, and values.
The school hosts a culturally diverse community with students from over sixty nationalities. A wide range of clubs and extracurricular activities supports community life, including sports teams, music, drama, and cultural activities. Student communities include Reading Buddies, the ABC Anti-Bullying Committee, the Student Council, Transition Buddies, Green Ambassadors, and House Captains. Parent engagement is encouraged and facilitated through a dedicated Parent Relations Executive, with activities such as coffee mornings to help parents understand how their children study and how to support them.
There is no publicly documented formal PTA; instead, parent involvement is organized through a dedicated Parent Relations Executive (PRE) who coordinates communications and parent activities. The PRE arranges events such as parent tours, open days, and information sessions to help families engage with school life; families can book a tour via the Book a Tour page. Parents can contact the PRE at PRE@bateenworldacademy.ae for inquiries and updates. Aldar Education also maintains a network-wide Parent Experience Centre that provides resources and support for parents across its schools. In addition, the school hosts parent coffee mornings and information sessions to help parents understand the curriculum and school life.
