Daily life details and school culture

Boarding Arrangements

No boarding facilities. All pupils are demi-pensionnaires with lunch provided in the school canteen; after-school care (garderie) is available on two sites with morning and after-school sessions.

Food Options

Lunch is prepared on site in the canteen and is compulsory for all pupils; meals are self-serve with a variety of vegetables, proteins, and fruits. Vegetarian or medical meals are available upon request at the start of the school year. Menus follow a three-week cycle and are published in the weekly newsletter and on the website; the canteen emphasizes nutrition and seasonal variety; meals are served in the basement canteen.

Governance and Ownership

Parent governance drives the school. The school is AEFE-approved (conventionnée) and independently managed as a parent-led association. A management committee handles administrative and financial matters with elected representatives on the school council; the APEEF coordinates many after-school clubs and events; a student council provides CE1–CM2 pupils a voice. The school operates as a UK charity with volunteer parent involvement and runs two sites: the main site at 59 Brook Green and an annex at 41 Brook Green.

École Française de Londres Jacques Prévert is a French international school in London, affiliated with AEFE and homologated by the French Ministry of Education. It serves pupils aged 3 to 11, covering Cycle 1 (PS–MS–GS) to Cycle 3 (CM1–CM2), with the 6ème included for a smooth move to secondary education. The curriculum is French national programs, with enhanced English language instruction to meet British requirements. From nursery, English is taught for about 4.5–5.5 hours per week; phonics are introduced from CP to CE2; English reading and writing begin in CE1; English-language projects run across subjects, and some sciences are taught in English. Students benefit from bilingual projects and a program that prepares them for education in both French and English after CM2. Facilities include two libraries and arts and sports offerings. The campus uses venues for swimming, climbing, and bike-ability. APEEF clubs and after-school care support a strong community life.
