Parent Experience

Community, involvement and what it's like to be a parent at this school

History

Jeannine Manuel UK is the London sister school of École Jeannine Manuel in Paris. Jeannine Manuel founded the Ecole Active Bilingue in 1954 with the mission to promote international understanding through bilingual education starting in the nursery years. In France, École Jeannine Manuel has become the largest non-denominational independent school with 3,250 students in Paris and Lille, representing more than eighty nationalities. The London campus opened in September 2015 and operates as a charitable company in England and Wales, established as a charity in 2014 under the governance of a Board of Trustees.

Community

Jeannine Manuel UK builds a strong community through events, newsletters and cross-campus activities. The Charity Gala 2025 is an example of the school's community fundraising event, organized with the involvement of a Gala Committee. It also publishes Think, Dare, Share & Care newsletters and supports the Parents Association, which runs Welcome events for new families and social and cultural activities across the Jeannine Manuel network. The Parents Association supports initiatives such as the exchange student program and charity projects including Race Against Hunger.
