Opening Minds Programme is mandatory for students from Year 7 to Year 10 (6ème to 3ème) and covers topics such as Chinese Calligraphy, Molecular Science, and Astronomy. Students choose two classes per term in mixed-age groups. The Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) is available for UK university applications and culminates in a 5000-word essay or report and a presentation of findings.
Visual/Performing Arts include a Choir, a student-led Music Committee, and the LIL Band. Annual events include Music Day and the Talent Show. The school has collaborated with Hermès and Goldfinger Design on the Manufacto Project and is organizing musical theatre workshops with Arts International.
Secondary students study a third language—Spanish, German, or Mandarin—and can participate in international trips to practice language skills. Language trips have included visits to China, Germany, Guatemala, and Spain. In Early Years, the dual language immersion programme uses two qualified teachers, one French and one English, to support bilingualism from age three.
Student Initiatives include Chess Club, Cinema Committee, Debate Society, Diversity Committee, Green Committee, Health Committee, Investment Club, LIL Charity Club, LIL Media Club, Model United Nations, Music Club, Peer Tutoring, Presentation Skills Club, Reading Club, and Sports Committee. These activities are student-led and designed to enrich school life and give students a voice. The school encourages students to create new opportunities and lead initiatives.
Service Learning trips abroad take place after Year 12 with recent trips to Laos and Nepal, staying with local families and working on development projects under teacher supervision. LIL Charity Club coordinates volunteering and social responsibility initiatives within the school community.
Student Government and Leadership programmes empower students to lead projects and develop professional skills. The Investment Club and Technology Committee support analytical and technical skills, while Debate Society and Presentation Skills Club develop communication and leadership abilities.
Sport is supported with outdoor facilities and events such as Sports Day, with Fryent Park nearby for additional activities. After-school activities are organized daily until 5pm for an additional fee. Health and wellbeing are reinforced by student committees such as the Health Committee and Diversity Committee.
Lycée International de Londres Winston Churchill (LILWC) is an independent, not-for-profit school in London offering a French curriculum alongside Cambridge IGCSE and the IB Diploma Programme for ages 3–18. It is part of the AEFE network and was established by the French Education Charitable Trust. The campus sits in the II-listed Brent Town Hall, a 1937 building acquired in 2012. In 2019 the school added the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. The curriculum blends French pedagogy with international assessment pathways to prepare for UK and university entry.
