Parent Experience

Community, involvement and what it's like to be a parent at this school

History

The Lycée International de Londres Winston Churchill was officially named in 2015 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the death of former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill. It operates as an independent not-for-profit school established by the French Education Charitable Trust (FECT) and is part of the Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE) network. In 2019, the school expanded its programme by introducing the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). The campus is located on the site of the former Brent Town Hall, a Grade II-listed building completed in 1937, which was acquired from Brent Council by FECT in 2012.

Community

The school fosters a welcoming, international community. Our Parents' Association APLIL has a welcoming programme for families who are new to the school, including support for children travelling together. The 10th anniversary was celebrated with a ceremony held under the high patronage of He9le8ne Duch9ne, French Ambassador to the UK, with François Hollande in attendance and hosted by Arnaud Vaissie9, Chair of the Board. A 10th Anniversary Community Festival offered music, food, games, and activities for all ages to mark a decade of community, culture, and connection.

Parent-Teacher Association

APLIL – Association de Parents is the school's Parents Association (PTA). It coordinates parental involvement and supports families, including a welcoming programme for new families and travel companions for children, as part of its role in school life.
