Application and Registration Fees
- Application Fee: €330 payable with each application.
- Entrance Fee (new students): €9,421 per child in the first year; €3,944 per child in the second and third school years. The Entrance Fee is due by 1 July.
- Registration Fee (first year of enrolment): €2,021 payable with signature of the School Contract.
- Re-enrollment Fee (returning students): €1,004.
Annual Tuition Fees and Instalment Amounts (School Year/Grade Breakdown)
- Early Childhood (EC / Kindergarten) — annual tuition and available booking options:
- Morning (4–5 hours/day): €13,590 (one-year amount). Installment (50%): €6,795.
- Short Day (5–6 hours/day): €15,463. Installment (50%): €7,731.50.
- Regular Day (6–7 hours/day): €17,337. Installment (50%): €8,668.50.
- Extended Day (7–8 hours/day): €20,059. Installment (50%): €10,029.50.
- Grades 1–4: Annual Tuition €18,289. Per instalment (50%): €9,144.50.
- Grades 5–8: Annual Tuition €20,928. Per instalment (50%): €10,464.00.
- Grade 9: Annual Tuition €22,967. Per instalment (50%): €11,483.50.
- Grades 10–11: Annual Tuition €26,196. Per instalment (50%): €13,098.00.
- Grade 12: Annual Tuition €27,583. Per instalment (50%): €13,791.50.
Technology Fee
- Technology Fee (due by 1 July each year) by grade:
- Early Childhood: €676.
- Grades 1–4: €1,016.
- Grades 5–8: €1,077.
- Grades 9–12 (BYOD): €706.
- Technology Fee supports IT infrastructure and 1:1 device provision.
Billing Schedule and Payment Terms
- Annual Tuition Fee billing: two instalments — 1st instalment (50% of annual Tuition Fee) payable by 1 July; 2nd instalment (50%) payable by 1 December.
- Payment methods accepted: bank transfer only; cash payments are not accepted. All payments must be made in euros. Any foreign-currency transfers will be credited at the school account's exchange rate and bank charges/exchange differences will be charged to the family account. IBAN and SWIFT/BIC for bank transfers are provided for payer use (IBAN: DE42 7025 0150 0022 8272 73; BIC: BYLADEM1KMS).
- Special Payment Plan (SPP) option for families paying 100% privately: equal payments due on 1 July, 1 October, 1 January, and 1 April; SPP requires direct debit and CFO approval; a service fee of €500 applies and is added to the first invoice. Revoked direct debits invalidate the SPP and full payment becomes due immediately.
Sibling Reductions and Fee-Reduction Programmes
- Sibling reductions: families with three or more children enrolled simultaneously receive reductions for the youngest child(ren): 10% reduction for the third child, 20% reduction for the fourth child and any additional children.
- A School Fee Reduction Programme (SFRP) exists for eligible families; separate application and eligibility criteria apply.
Optional and Additional Fees
- Student Life Programme (SLP), Athletics, Arts and After-School Activities (seasonal fees): various per-activity fees (examples):
- Athletics season fee (standard Wildcats season): €250 per season.
- Arts/After-School Activities (on-site) fees typically range from €65 to €195 per season depending on weekly hours.
- Duke of Edinburgh's International Award participation fee: €250 per year.
- After School Care (ASC) options (annual rates):
- Option A (ASC only): €1,808.
- Option B (ASC Plus): €2,245.
- Option C (EC–Grade 6 early-release Fridays supervision only): €484.
- School bus transportation (annual fees by distance band; round-trip and one-way options):
- Section A (0–7 km): Round trip €1,910; One way €955.
- Section B (7–14 km): Round trip €2,674; One way €1,337.
- Section C (14–21 km): Round trip €3,440; One way €1,720.
- Section D (21–28 km): Round trip €4,204; One way €2,102.
- Section E (>28 km): Round trip €5,094; One way €2,547.
- Laboratory/LIAB or special seasonal lab bus options also have separate fees. Bus fees are charged annually and are subject to proration for late enrolment or early termination according to the school's schedule.
- Other optional costs: optional trips, off-site activities, ISST tournament travel, materials for specific courses, and similar items may be invoiced separately when applicable.
- Uniforms / PE kit: PE uniforms and kit are available for purchase through a local provider.
Refunds, Proration and Withdrawal Terms
- Non-refundable fees: the Application Fee, Registration Fee, and Re-enrollment Fee are non-refundable. The Technology Fee is non-refundable unless the student withdraws before the entry date. The Entrance Fee is non-refundable except when a student has attended MIS for 65 days or less in a given school year; in such a case 50% of that year's Entrance Fee will be refunded. If a student withdraws before the entry date, 100% of the Entrance Fee will be refunded.
- Annual Tuition Fee proration on early termination (refundable percentage based on termination month):
- Termination effective in August: 90% refundable
- September: 80% refundable
- October: 70% refundable
- November: 60% refundable
- December: 50% refundable
- January: 40% refundable
- February: 30% refundable
- March: 20% refundable
- April: 10% refundable
- May: 0% refundable
- June: 0% refundable.
- Bus fees and ASC fees are subject to specific proration and refund rules; bus fees have their own payable/prorated schedule for late enrolment and a specified refundable percentage in case of termination.
Boarding
- Munich International School is a day school and does not offer boarding.
Fee Invoicing and Communication
- Invoices are sent by email only. Families must keep Admissions updated with current contact details to receive invoices and payment communications.
