Part of the network of German Schools Abroad, the Colegio Alemán de Guadalajara has more than 140 institutions worldwide. It is designated a Colegio de Excelencia en el Extranjero by the German Federal Inspectorate. The school offers Cambridge certifications, the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB, Diploma GIB), and DSD I and DSD II language certifications. It follows a 15-year educational project and maintains a Safe School environment.
Arts and creativity are integrated across grade levels. The curriculum includes artistic subjects and music, and theatre is offered in secondary. The school hosts events such as Noche musical, and theatre performances, as well as competitions in storytelling, oratory, and photography. CAS (Creativity, Activity and Service) and robotics are part of Bachillerato.
German is a core language across the curriculum, with German language instruction at multiple levels and German language certificates offered (DSD I and II). Model United Nations events such as ALEMUN and HumboldtMUN, along with Humboldt Cup, provide language and cultural enrichment. The school also runs school exchanges (Intercambio Escolar) with German-speaking countries and offers travel/IB-related programs for advanced study.
Social and recreational activities include assemblies, camps, and celebrations such as Lantern Festival, Advent, Carnival, Book Fair, Easter events, Children's Day, and Day of the Dead.
