Parent Experience

Community, involvement and what it's like to be a parent at this school

History

Founded in 1963 by Edward Foulkes and Ronald Stech, The Edron Academy (El Colegio Británico, A.C.) was established to create a learning community in which every child is safe, happy and successful. The school has moved locations to accommodate increased student numbers, but the Edron Values continue to bind the community. It is the oldest British international school in Mexico City and is run on a not-for-profit basis, ensuring funds and energy are directed toward teaching and learning. Since its founding, The Edron Academy has been incorporated by the Mexican Ministry of Education and has been an IB World School since 1995 and a Cambridge IGCSE centre. It was accredited by COBIS in 2014, and the school remains focused on its past, present and future.

Community

The Edron Academy maintains a connected community across Edron Kinder, Edron Primary and Edron Secondary, with Edron Plus, Kiddie Club, and Nursery through Reception & Year 1 supporting continuity. Family and student engagement is fostered through Edron Communication channels, including the Edron Blog, Edron Post and Proud to be Edron, as well as events such as Edron Talks. The Edron Library supports the bicultural curriculum with resources and platforms such as the Edron Library Platform and events like Book Week.
