Daily uniform. In Early Years, Kinder wear red sweaters and Winpenny tracksuits for physical education three times a week, with an art smock and warm clothing for winter. Grade 1 to Grade 5 wear Winpenny uniforms every day; on special occasions they wear a tie and navy jacket, and they wear a Winpenny tracksuit for PE twice a week; an optional smock is available and warm clothing is worn in the colder months.
The school has a four-house system: Aztec, Maya, Olmec and Toltec. Each House has its own colour and three personal characteristics; House Points are awarded for effort, achievement, IPC personal goals and IB Learner Profile attributes, and for House competitions and charitable collections. The House system is led by Head Girl and Head Boy (Grade 12) with a House Captain and Vice-Captains; older students mentor younger students.
Winpenny opened in September 1992. The school is governed by a Board of Directors and the founders.
Winpenny School is a British international school located in Cuajimalpa, Mexico City, serving children from age 3 to 18 (Kinder 1 to Grade 12). The curriculum follows IEYC and IPC in Early Years; IPC and Cambridge Primary English with Abacus Mathematics in Primary; and IMYC (Grades 6–8), Cambridge IGCSE (Grades 9–10) and the IB Diploma Programme (Grades 11–12) in Secondary. English is the language of instruction throughout, with 80% of the day in English in Early Years, 70% in Primary and 70% in Secondary; 30% of the day includes Spanish (PE, music, language and social studies). The school holds UNAM accreditation and follows SEP requirements; technology is integrated with Google Workspace for Education and BYOD. Facilities include 36 classrooms, a science lab, an art studio, two music studios, library and Early Years centre, plus football field and a basketball court. Founded in 1992, Winpenny serves 500 students with 60 teachers.
