Academic and Intellectual

Winpenny School provides a British international curriculum from Early Years through to the Diploma Programme. In Early Years, Kinder learn in English for 80% of the day and follow the International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC) and the International Primary Curriculum (IPC). In Primary, English is used for 70% of the day, with IPC, Cambridge Primary English and Abacus Mathematics from the UK. In Secondary, the curriculum includes the International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC) for Grades 6–8, Cambridge IGCSE for Grades 9–10, and the IB Diploma Programme for Grades 11–12.

Arts and Creative

Afternoon Activities include dance, football, basketball, volleyball, arts and various instrumental lessons. A wide range of academic, sporting and artistic activities is offered every term, with the list published in the Parent Circular. An Afternoon Activities bus service runs after school to transport students home.

Cultural and Language

English is the primary language of instruction, with English taught across the curriculum; Kinder learn in English for 80% of the day and Primary teaches English for 70% of the day with Spanish making up about 30% (PE, music, Spanish language and social studies). The four Houses (Aztec, Maya, Olmec, Toltec) reflect a blend of British and Mexican culture to foster cross‑cultural understanding. The upper secondary pathway includes UNAM accreditation, Cambridge IGCSE and the IB Diploma Programme, providing international opportunities.

Social and Hobbies

Afternoon Activities include dance, football, basketball, volleyball, arts and instrumental lessons. A Buddy System helps new children integrate by pairing them with a peer buddy. Circle Around the Child coordinates welfare and social development, and House tournaments foster teamwork and leadership.

Community and Service

Winpenny runs community projects including Harvest Festival collections and Christmas donations to communities in need. Donations and collections are organized by the school and coordinated with local communities. Secondary students deliver food parcels to local communities, and the school regularly participates in social service activities within the school and local area.

Leadership and Professional

Head Girl and Head Boy lead in school, and older students can hold House Captain and Prefect roles, developing leadership, teamwork and communication skills. The House System promotes belonging, friendly competition and citizenship, with older students mentoring younger ones. The Circle Around the Child team and school leadership structures support ongoing leadership development.

Lifestyle and Wellbeing

Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE) is taught in the Secondary School, covering Healthy Lifestyle, Healthy Relationships, Living in the Wider World and Study Habits. The wellbeing of every child is central to Winpenny's ethos, with social and emotional learning incorporated across the school. Afternoon Activities support physical health and well‑being through sport and artistic engagement.

Winpenny School is a British international school located in Cuajimalpa, Mexico City, serving children from age 3 to 18 (Kinder 1 to Grade 12). The curriculum follows IEYC and IPC in Early Years; IPC and Cambridge Primary English with Abacus Mathematics in Primary; and IMYC (Grades 6–8), Cambridge IGCSE (Grades 9–10) and the IB Diploma Programme (Grades 11–12) in Secondary.
