RGS Surrey Hills delivers a broad and carefully sequenced academic curriculum across the senior years, designed to challenge and support every student. Teaching encourages critical thinking, questioning and ownership of progress across a wide range of subjects. As pupils move toward GCSE study and into the Sixth Form, learning is underpinned by clear guidance and high expectations. The Sixth Form offers two programmes—A Levels (including a BTEC) or the International Baccalaureate Diploma—both academically rigorous and highly regarded by universities.

The Creative Arts Faculty offers a broad range of disciplines including 3D Design and Arts, Craft & Design, with specialisations such as Textiles, Fashion, Mixed Media, Fine Art, Photography and Architecture. Art, Craft and Design form the heart of creative expression, developing practical skills across drawing, graphic design, print, embroidery and constructed textiles. Writers Collective is part of the co-curricular programme, providing opportunities for writing and collaborative creative work.

Round Square provides opportunities for global and regional conferences and enables exchanges and projects, fostering international understanding. Round Square exchanges are available for Year 10 and Year 12, with service projects such as those in South Africa carried out in partnership with the Good Work Foundation. Model United Nations (MUN) develops global citizenship through research, public speaking and diplomacy, aligning with the IDEALS of Internationalism, Democracy, Environmentalism, Adventure, Leadership and Service.

Writers Collective forms part of the school's co-curricular offerings, providing opportunities for writing and collaborative creative work. Expeditions are a core part of the early years, with Year 7 residentials to the New Forest and Year 8 team-building and water-based activities. The Duke of Edinburgh Award is a popular scheme in which students pursue Bronze, Silver and Gold expeditions and related volunteering and skill components.

Round Square service projects include South Africa-based work in partnership with the Good Work Foundation, such as building a nursery, a digital learning centre and a raised-bed garden, alongside other community-improvement activities. Students also undertake local service projects as part of the Round Square experience, with opportunities to contribute to the broader community. The Duke of Edinburgh Award includes volunteering components, reflecting the school's emphasis on service and community engagement.

Sixth Form students have leadership opportunities including roles such as Head of School, Syndicate leader, Sports Captain and leading clubs and societies, with comprehensive prefect training. Model United Nations fosters leadership, public speaking, research and networking, supporting students as global leaders. The Sixth Form Centre houses the offices of the IB Co-ordinator, Head of Sixth Form and Head of Careers, providing expert guidance to students shaping their next steps.

Sport is fundamental to developing confident, capable and healthy individuals, with physical activity viewed as a lifelong journey that supports wellbeing, ambition and a positive sense of self. The programme offers competitive fixtures and recreational activity across Football, Netball, Hockey, Rugby, Cricket, Tennis, Basketball and Athletics, among other options. The on-site Sports Centre provides extensive facilities, including pitches, nets, an indoor hall and access to Box Hill and the North Downs for outdoor activities, supporting both performance and participation. A Saturday Sport programme launched in 2025 expands opportunities beyond the school week.
