Dar es Salaam International Academy (DIA) is Tanzania's IB World School offering the IB continuum for ages 5–18. Founded in 2003 to serve residents, the school delivers Primary Years Programme (PYP) from Kindergarten to Grade 5, Middle Years Programme (MYP) for Grades 6–10, and Diploma Programme (DP) for Grades 11–12. DIA holds accreditation from International Baccalaureate, Council of International Schools and Middle States Association, with CIS and MSA accreditation achieved in 2021. The campus features three science laboratories, three computer laboratories, a 25‑metre swimming pool, a multi‑purpose court and a field, plus a music room, Performing Arts and two Visual Arts rooms. The Library uses online public access system and classrooms are equipped with teaching technology. After-school activities span arts, athletics, STEM and academics, while Service Learning and CAS integrate community engagement across IB years. DIA celebrated 20 years in 2023 and welcomed its first graduating class in 2019 to date.
UWC East Africa is a two‑campus international school in Tanzania (Moshi and Arusha) offering the IB Primary Years Programme, Middle Years Programme and Diploma Programme on both campuses for students aged 3 to 18/19. The Moshi and Arusha campuses provide both residential and day schooling, with resident houses on each campus to support IB Diploma students and on‑campus life. The school joined the UWC movement in 2019 and is owned by International School Moshi Ltd, a Tanzanian non‑profit; governance is by a board with representatives from founding shareholders and the Parent‑Teacher Association. Facilities include science labs, Wi‑Fi across campuses, a pool on the Moshi site, and multiple residential houses. The Diploma Programme includes Group 4 sciences and an individual investigation. Co‑curricular life emphasises Sport, Service and Creativity, Outdoor Pursuits, and leadership through the Duke of Edinburgh Award. International School of Tanganyika (IST) is an independent, private, not-for-profit day school with campuses in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. It serves ages 3 to 18 and offers the International Baccalaureate programmes in the Elementary and Secondary years: PYP, MYP and DP. IST was authorized as an IB World School in January 2021 and has a history dating to 1963, when it was created by parents with support from Geneva-based International Schools Association. Two campuses—Elementary in Upanga and Secondary on the Masaki/Msasani Peninsula—house facilities, including over 30 air‑conditioned classrooms on the Elementary campus and over 50 on the Secondary site, plus dedicated music and art spaces and Early Childhood rooms renovated in 2021. The Secondary campus features science and design technology labs opened in 2009 and an Athletic Center opened in 2021. IST emphasises co-curriculars—arts, athletics, service learning, and Extended Studies Programme—with clubs such as Model United Nations and service partnerships.
